Nobody's POV
Eddie left the 118 after Bobby told him and Buck they couldn't be in a relationship if they were gonna be together so he's not a firefighter anymore. He has his own job now. He has a lawn business where he hires ex-criminals or homeless people and they go mow lawns and do other things for people. It's good money. Him and Buck actually got married a year ago. He was on a job now. He makes sure that he is at every job. He trust the men that work for him. The people just don't trust them. He was mowing the grass when his phone goes off. He stops and cuts off the engine. He answers the phone
"Hello Diaz" Eddie answers
"Yes this is Nurse Petty. Evan Diaz just came into the ER" Nurse Petty tells him
"Is he okay" Eddie asked
"He needs surgery but the surgery isn't anything major. He has a concussion and a few broken bones" Nurse Petty tells him
"What is the surgery for" Eddie asked
"His arm isn't going to heal right if they don't go in and puts some screws in" Nurse Petty tells him
"Okay I'll be there soon. Oh and he has a necklace, it's his wedding ring. Can you get it for me" Eddie asked
"I will" Nurse Petty tells him and hangs up
Eddie puts the lawn mower on the truck
"Hey guys. I need to go to the hospital so we are gonna have to finish this later" Eddie tell them
"Okay boss" a few say back
They pack up the stuff and one of the guys drives Eddie to the hospital while the others go back to the building they keep everything. Eddie was going to call his co-boss and get him to finish the job but he's a jerk and most the guys working today don't like him. They get to the hospital
"Hey just send everyone home when you get back. Tell Jake I asked to do it and I'll call everyone and tell them that we had to push back the lawns to tomorrow. And tell everyone that they can come by tomorrow and get paid fully even though we only did one house. Oh and thanks for the ride Sam" Eddie tells him
"No problem Boss. I'll make sure everything is off the truck too and make sure your truck is ready to come get" Sam tells him
"Thanks" Eddie tells him
Sam drives off. Eddie grabs his phone out of this pocket and calls Carla
"Hey Eddie" Carla answers
"Hey Can Christopher stay with you tonight" Eddie asked
"Yeah of course. My husband loves him" Carla says
"Okay, Just tell him dad and Buck will probably be home in a few day that Buck got hurt and has to stay in the hospital. That he can come see him tomorrow that Buck needs rest" Eddie explains
"I will" Carla says
"Oh and he can call me just I don't know how this is gonna turn out" Eddie explains
"Go I got this" Carla says and hangs up before Eddie can say anything else
Eddie walks into the hospital. He walks over to the desk
"Yes" a nurse asked
"My husband Evan Diaz came in" Eddie explains
"Yes his fire house and sister are in the waiting" the nurse explains
"Thanks" Eddie says and walks to the waiting room
Maddie was sitting holding Chimney's hand. She looks up when he walks in. She gets up and runs over and hugs him
"They won't tell me anything" Maddie cries
"He's fine just a concussion and broken bones. The only reason they took him to surgery is because they have to put screws in his arms" Eddie explains rubbing her back
A nurse walks over to them
"Are you Eddie Diaz" the Nurse asked
"I am" Eddie confirms
"Nurse Petty, I got this" Nurse Petty says holding out the necklace
"Thanks" Eddie says grabbing it
"No problem. He's a talkative guy" Nurse Petty says
"Yeah he never shuts up" Eddie jokes making Maddie laugh
Nurse Petty leaves. Eddie puts the necklace around Maddie's neck
"What no" Maddie starts but Eddie stops her
"Until he gets out. Also I kinda already have something exactly the same that reminds me of him" Eddie tells her and Maddie smiles
"Best brother-in-law ever" Maddie says letting go of him
"Really" Eddie jokes
"Yeah when you're not cover in grass" Maddie laughs
"Well it's hard to go home and change when you get a call that your husband is in the hospital" Eddie jokes
Maddie laughs and shakes her head. Maddie goes sits down beside Chimney and Eddie sits down. The team was just watching them. Chimney didn't even know they were married. Eddie looked different his skin was darker, his hair was long again, he had lost come muscle but not much. He looked like he did when they first meet him really expected he was darker. About three hours later the doctor comes out and calls for them. He allowed everyone to come see him. Eddie let the team walk in front of him. He also let them talk to him first before talking to him. So he was leaning against the door frame
"Hey kid" Bobby greets
Buck looks around the room. He sees Eddie in the back so he answers Bobby
"Hey" Buck says back
"How are you feeling" Hen asked
"Actually fine" Buck says
"That's good you had a nasty fall. I thought I was gonna lose my sidekick" James the guy that replaced Eddie says
"Nope you can asked my life long sidekick. I'm hard to kill" Buck jokes which causes Eddie to laugh and everyone look at him
Maddie takes off the necklace
"I think this belongs to you" Maddie says putting it around his neck
"Wow you really did that. I was joking when I said that" Buck says looking at Eddie
"Oh hell no that thing cost more then mine I'm gonna sell it and your ass was fine don't even" Eddie says and everyone goes back to looking at him
"How do you know that" Buck smirks
"Because your dumbass always cheats death so I'm not even worried. The day I worry about you is that day I kill you" Eddie jokes which cause the two people he didn't know gasp
"Get over here" Buck says and Eddie walks over and kisses him
"God no go back over there" Buck jokes and Eddie pokes his side
"Ow you bitch" Buck whines
"That's for getting hurt and how am I gonna go home and change if I come from a job. Which reminds me. I have to push back all of today's stuff to tomorrow because of you which means double the work" Eddie says clearly upset about it
"Can't you take tomorrow off" Buck whines
"No because half the guys hate Jake which I don't blame them for but I'm not trying to have him stabbed either. Because that's just a whole mess" Eddie explains and kisses Buck's head
"Can Christopher stay home then" Buck asked
"Whatever sure" Eddie says
Bobby, James and Tanner leave to get back to work after saying bye to Buck. Eddie gets his phone out
"No not now" Buck whines
"Another reason I'm not staying home tomorrow you get whiny when your hurt" Eddie says and sticks his tongue out at Buck
"Fine but I get cuddles" Buck pouts
"Okay" Eddie says and calls the first person
He doesn't leave the room because then Buck would whine some more when he got back. Hen keeps looking back and forth between Buck and Eddie
"Just ask" Buck tells her
"Why did he leave" Hen asked
"Bobby said we could be together and work together. I mean he's making more money now then he is when he was a firefighter" Buck explains
"What does he do" Hen asked
"He goes and cleans up people yards every month" Buck says
"Alone" Hen asked
"No he has hired ex-criminals and homeless people. They are actually nice people when you get to know them. Like we bought a building where the homeless people and shower. Some of them sleep there which is okay with us." Buck says
Eddie looks at them when he hangs up the phone
"What" Buck asked
"Nothing" Eddie says then his phone goes off
He answers it
"Hello Jake what do you need" Eddie answers
"Yeah so you sent everyone home why" Jack asked
"Okay one you work for me and two my husband is in the hospital right now. And I told Sam to send everyone home because I can be there to help and watch them and to be honest almost all of them hate you. And I don't trust you on the job so just go home and stop questioning shit" Eddie sighs
"I quit" Jake yells
"Bye" Eddie ends the call and smiles at Buck
"Okay what now" Buck asked
"Jake just quit finally. I've been giving him hints all week to quit and he finally did it" Eddie explains
"Who you gonna put behind the schedule" Buck asked
"Her names Sandy I actually already hired her. She quit her job and need another one so" Eddie explains
Eddie goes back to calling customers
"When did y'all get married" Hen asked
"6 months ago" Buck tells her
"Eddie" Buck says caught Eddie's attention
Eddie raises his eyebrow and Buck motions for him to come over. Eddie switches the phone to his right hand and gives Buck his left and Buck kisses his ring then laces their fingers. He starts messing with his hand
"Do y'all want more kids" Hen asked
Eddie shakes his head no and Buck says no
"Why not" Hen asked
"We can't really have more kids" Buck says
"Why not" Hen asked
"Can't adopt because of my job and Buck shift are crazy" Eddie explains then turns his attention back to his phone
"Oh come on y'all can get like Maddie pregnant and it would have some Buckley genes" Hen says
"Oh um about my last name it's not Buckley" Buck says
"What" Hen asked shocked
"We had a long talk and a lot of make up sex after and we agreed that it was easier for me to become a Diaz then Eddie becoming a Buckley" Buck explains
"What about combining them" Hen asked
Eddie asks his head no
"Why not" Hen asked
Eddie tells her to wait with his finger. He ends the call
"Easier just to change Buck's name since we were getting married then having to get a judge to change Christopher's name. Really the whole name thing lead to what would be easier for Christopher. Also with the kid thing. Christopher has said he would love another sibling it's just he doesn't understand that siblings mean that we still won't be home as much. I mean yeah we take off the same days but sometimes he gets upset over us not being there" Eddie explains
"Yep" Buck confirms
"He's about to get about a good four months of you" Eddie jokes
"You know what this is differ then my knee. I actually could use sometime off" Buck tells him
Hen, Maddie and Chimney stuck around for a while. When they left. Eddie was asleep holding Bucks hand. Buck was just watching him sleep. Buck could tell that even though Eddie was joking around he was just trying to not image that this could have been worst. Buck falls asleep watching him sleep

I'm sorry I haven't updated. I've been trying to enjoy my summer. I'm updating more this week. Also this one is one of my favorites so I hope you enjoyed it
