Aubree sipped her iced tea while waiting for Kreo and Kenric. They were at the uni and planning to leave early for the movies. "Hey, babe. . ."
She turned her head to see Xahria taking a seat beside hers. "Hey." Xahria settled and placed her bag on the table. "Rowen called."
"Yeah?" Xahria smirked. "What's going on between you two?" Aubree's brows frowned in confusion. "What made you say that?"
"Haha―Babe, I have seen how you guys looked at each other at the last party. He was playing with your hair!" Aubree rolled her eyes. "Hold your horses. We were just talking, and I couldn't possibly ignore him all the time."
"OK."
"Why did he call you though?"
"Not gonna tell you." Aubree huffed. "Come on. Tell me."
"They were planning the Thanksgiving break. We might be going on a family vacation."
"So soon?" Xahria crossed her arms. "Hmm, they don't have to make any appointments or business meetings on Thanksgiving break. They are clearing their schedules ahead of time and planning out."
Aubree hummed. "Rowen called to ask if we were planning a trip with our friends on Thanksgiving break. I told him we haven't spoken about it as of now."
"Everyone's going home for Thanksgiving. I don't think we would be going on a vacation."
"Yeah. . . But some of the players on the basketball and baseball teams aren't going home. As Kreo, Elwen and Kenric are close to them. They might join the boys on vacation."
"True." Aubree looked away as thoughts of Rowen crossed her mind. Last party, she had seen something cross Rowen's eyes, but it quickly vanished before Aubree could pinpoint it.
Rowen didn't show up at the breakfast table the next morning or the other day. She knew he was ignoring her, and she was OK with it. They do not have to make things more awkward and make it evident before others that they have been ignoring.
"Are you guys ignoring each other? Do you still have a crush on him?" Xahria whispered. Aubree snapped her head back. "What?!"
"He was present for the breakfast with Elwen, but he acted as if he was on a call and left immediately without even meeting the others. He saw you stepping out of the car with Kreo." Xahria made a thinking face. "I believe he's ignoring you."
"Whatever it be. I don't have any crush on him." Xahria smiled. "There's nothing wrong, but you already know how everyone's walking on thin lines because of Kai and Angel."
"Just don't make it too awkward, and try not to ignore him when you meet him."
"OK."
"Anyway, I'm going out with Rhys," Aubree said, and Xahria looked at her surprised. "Boy! He just saw you two nights ago and already got your number?"
Aubree chuckled. "He's sweet and just asked if we could go out for dinner."
"Isn't it called a date?" Elwen asked, taking his seat. Xahria nodded her head, but Aubree shrugged her shoulders.
"What date?" Kreo asked. He walked with Kenric behind him. They were standing as there were no chairs. "Aubree's going on a date," Elwen said.
"That's not a date."
"With whom?" Aubree and Kreo said at the same time. "Rhys," Xahria answered.
"Well, Aubree's popular," Kenric commented. "Rhys, who?" Kreo asked. Elwen and Kenric looked at Kreo with a dumb expression. "I knew two Rhys on this campus, guys."
