The 7th of June, the day of my birth. The day I dread the most out of all except for Christmas only because of my accident.
I got a birthday text from Chase like normal, but Steven didn't say or do anything special? Not that I cared that much either, but to be honest, I think he forgot all about my birthday? Mitch hadn't forgotten about my birthday though, but him and I had started growing distant from each other so, it didn't really feel like he meant for me to have a good day?
I had asked Chase to bring some of the trash bags I had collected with old stuff from my room to bring to my dad's house, just to customize my own room and give it some more characteristics other than grey walls with a bed.
"Hey, I'm outside" said the text I got from Chase, right after the birthday well-wishes and the text saying that he was on his way. "I'm coming out" I replied back and packet my last few essentials, before walking out of my room and out of the fraternity house.
"Hey, did you get everything?" I asked Chase as he had rolled down all the windows in the car, probably to air it out or something? "Yeah, I got the trash-bags!" yelled Chase back and chuckled as I sat in the front seat and heard his air conditioner almost explode from all the air it had to push out.
"Hot or what?" I asked as I chuckled and felt the heat of the car seat, "Oh wow!" I said as I jumped off my seat and rubbed the underside of my calf's and still felt the heat from the leather seat.
"Yeah, sorry about that" said Chase and closed all the windows and turned the air conditioner up even higher! "Is that safe?" I asked in shock as I didn't even hear myself speak.
"What?!" asked Chase and clearly proved my point of it not being safe and out of control! I turned down the air conditioner and opened the windows, only to let in the hot air Chase had tried to get rid of.
"Good job letting all the cold air out" said Chase and commented on me opening the window, "Sorry!" I said as I started closing the window again, but Chase just shook it off and said I could just keep it open.
Chase ignited the engine and drove down the street and later out of the city, me on the other hand, sat with my head halfway out the window, feeling the air flow through my hair.
"Ha-ha, careful now" said Chase and closed the window a little bit, just to the point where I couldn't stick my head out. "Don't worry, I'm not scared" I said as I opened the window again, only to be jolted by the sight of a large truck driving past my window and past us.
"See?" said Chase and almost snapped at me, "I told you so" continued Chase and kept his eyes on the road. I simply just rolled my eyes at his comments from then on and out. I just turned the music up on the radio and enjoyed what I could of my birthday.
"Hey, have you heard anything from dad?" asked Chase and turned down the volume of the music and completely destroyed my jamming session. "Am I supposed to hear something from him?" I asked and chuckled, "I mean, I haven't ever gotten a single birthday card or anything from him in years!" I continued to prove my point.
"Oh, I don't know?" said Chase and shook it off as he kept his eyes on the road. "Can I listen to some songs now?" I asked as I leaned over to the radio to turn up the volume once more, "Yeah sure" said Chase and caught me off-guard as he was the one to turn up the volume.
I continued to jam out to the songs I played and so did Chase. It was nice for once, not to worry about Justin, Jake and the rest of the guys.
"Hey, we're here!" said Chase and turned down the volume on last time, only to speak to the same guard as last time. "We're here to see our dad" said Chase to the woman in the booth, "Oh, what's the occasion?" said the guard surprised to see us again. "Well, he's here to celebrate his birthday" replied Chase with a smile and nudged me to smile as well.
"Oh! Well happy birthday then!" said the woman in the booth and completely changed her mood, "Thanks" I replied and smiled before she opened the gate for us and notified our dad that we were on our way.
"Have you gotten anything from Mitch today?" asked Chase as he slowly made his way up to our dad's house, "No, Mitch and I aren't really on talking terms lately" I replied and looked out the window, still amazed about how much space there were between each of the houses in this neighborhood.
"Oh, ok" said Chase and continued to drive up the hill. "There he is!" said Chase as he pulled up in our dad's driveway.
