The next morning was the same usual chaotic schedule. I was awakened by Trudy on the intercom, calling us all down for breakfast. I tried to find my way from what I could remember, but I ended up needing help from Casper once more to find my way to the dining room.
On the menu was scrambled eggs with some pieces of bacon and some toasted bread. We sat throughout the entire breakfast in silence, as we all didn't really have anything to say to each other.
My father sat proudly on the end of the table, with his wife by his side and us kids sat around the table by age. I turned around and saw Trudy standing in the kitchen and waited for us to finish our breakfast, so she could take our plates and do the dishes.
"Trudy, come and clean!" yelled my father with food still hanging out his mouth, but I looked down on my own plate and the others plate and none of us looked as if we were done eating? "Oh, I'm not done" I said as Trudy reached for my plate, but she didn't care. She was like a slave to my father, doing whatever he ordered her to do.
The other kids around the table didn't say much either, they just sat and watched as Trudy took away what was left of their breakfast.
I walked away from the breakfast table still hungry for more food, but deep down I was scared to ask my own father for more food! I walked out of the dining room and entered the kitchen where Trudy worked her ass off to do the dishes.
"Hey, you're still hungry right?" asked Trudy and almost whispered in fear of my father hearing her. "Yeah, kind of" I replied and sat down by the kitchen counter as she just about finished doing the dishes.
"What do you want?" she said as she adjusted her hat and apron, "Uh, what do you mean?" I asked and adjusted the barstool so my feet wouldn't dangle. "I mean, what do you want to eat?" explained Trudy and found a giant book filled with recipes from around the world.
"What do you recommend?" I asked Trudy and she opened her book to some of the most used recipes she had, but I didn't want that. "You know what? What do you want to make?" I asked Trudy and saw a light flash in her eyes of excitement.
"Oh, I've never been asked that since back in school" said Trudy surprised and started going up and down all the pages of her book, studying each of the recipes to find something perfect. "Ah, there it is!" said Trudy excited and was about to show me the recipe, but I quickly stopped her and said; "Let it be a surprise"
The spark in her eyes ignited into a fire as she in a hurry moved around the kitchen and grabbing all the equipment she needed.
"Isaac, someone's calling you" said Casper from the house intercom and I ran up the stairs and into my room to grab my phone with 4 unanswered calls from Chase. I called him back as fast as I could, but he didn't pick up right away? I tried calling once more, but he yet again didn't answer!
I ran back downstairs and into the kitchen where Trudy had brought out a waffle iron and fresh berries. "Waffles?" I asked, "Waffles!" she replied as I sat down by the kitchen counter and waited for her waffles to be done.
My phone finally started vibrating and I, within seconds answered Chase's call. "When do you want to be picked up?" he asked as he chewed something in the other end of the phone, "I don't know?" I replied and finally got the waffle Trudy had slaved over to finish.
"Thank you!" I said while I was on the phone with Chase and leaned over the counter to hug her. "Oh, no problem!" she replied and chuckled as she started cleaning the entire kitchen once more.
I grabbed the waffle and walked over to the dining room where I sat all alone and enjoyed the amazing waffle Trudy had made, with freshly berries and lots of syrup. Though it didn't take long for my father to notice that I was missing from my room and called for me on the intercom.
"Isaac, meet me in the foyer. Your brother is here to pick you up"
"Here Trudy, it was delicious!" I said as I walked by the kitchen and handed her my empty plate. "Oh, thank you Isaac!" said Trudy with roses in her cheeks and continued to clean the kitchen.
I ran up the stairs in a hurry to grab my bag from my room and I ran to the grand stairwell where my father, stepmother and their sons and daughter were ready to say goodbye to me.
"Bye" I said as I grabbed my bag and walked out the door and out to where Chase stood and waited for me. "Goodbye Isaac" replied my father before he slammed the door behind me.
"How was everything?" asked Chase and started the car engine, "It was great" I replied and looked at the gigantic house, before he pulled out and left.
