*Calums Pov*

Shit.

"W-what? What are you talking about maya?" I ask.

Way to go Calum, like that wasn't obvious.

"I thought I heard you say-"

"well you heard wrong, I don't like Stella. That's ashton's girlfriend that's wrong." Is all I say to her and walk back up to my room.

I plop myself on my bed and let out a huge sigh. I put my hands over my face.

*Stella's Pov*

Ashton and I are still on our morning walk, he found a couple of cool shells he wants to bring back home with us. I can feel my phone buzzing in my pocket and I see that it's my mom.

"who's callin?" Ashton asks, looking over at me holding his shells.

"it's my mom, give me a sec" I say, answering the phone.

"hey mom!" I say.

"hey hun I haven't heard from you in a while so I decided to call and see what you've been up to. How are things?" She asks me, I can hear my dad talking in the background.

"i'm doing good, i've been trying to stay away from my phone recently with everything going on i'm sorry" I say, feeling a little guilty I haven't really spoken to her recently. We're really close, I tell her everything. She's my best friend.

"Yeah I understand sweetie, weren't you guys gonna go on vacation soon?" She asks.

"we're actually on vacation right now, we're here in Hawaii. It's so beautiful here mom." I say, as ashton and I sit in the sand.

"that's amazing hun! I'm happy y'all got to get away from the craziness for a little bit. It was very much needed for y'all. Was everyone able to go?"

"yeah everyone's here, it's pretty nice being able to hang out with the group" I say smiling. I see ashton look up and smile at me while rubbing my thigh a little.

"Well that's good baby, I just wanted to check up on you. See how everything's going. I'll let you guys go, send us some pictures! Love you" She says with a little chuckle.

"Will do, I love you too mom. Tell dad I love him as well, talk later. Bye" I say, hanging up.

"I love your mom, she's so sweet" Ashton says, smiling over at me.

The times that Ashton and I have facetimed my family he always gets excited to talk to my mom. She gets excited to talk to ashton too. They get along so well, same with my dad. He's the first boyfriend my family actually likes.

"yeah she is" I say with a little chuckle.

"ready to head back to the house? I want to see what everyone wants to do today" He asks.

I nodd. Ashton reaches his hand out to help me up and we walk back to the house. The breeze felt so good on my skin this morning, there wasn't too many people out here on the beach so it was pretty peaceful. Not crowded at all.

It's been pretty good to not have Isaac on my mind. I know i'm in a new relationship and in a new friend group now, and shouldn't be thinking about him but it's hard not to. Knowing he's still trying to somehow get back at me? Or scare me? It's hard to not think about what goes on in his head. Why would he be so deadset i'm getting me back when he didn't really want me in the first place? He cheated and was abusive. I wish the detective would find out where he is right now and just have this over with.
