Lillia was blasted from her feet. She clutched Cassian as hard as she could attempting to shield his head. They landed and rolled in some wood wreckage. Caelum landed not far away, groaning. He pushed himself up on all fours crawling over to them.

“Are you both okay?” He asked.

Lillia pulled away enough to look at Cassian. He was white faced and trembling, but otherwise okay. She nodded. Suddenly an irresistible wave of nausea hit her and she shoved Cassian at Caelum and started to puke. She took several deep breaths and her hand instinctively to her belly.

“What happened? Are you still sick?” He asked. His eyes flicked to her hand and realization dawned in his eyes.

“Drayce let you come?” He hissed.

“He doesn’t know.” Lillia said. She looked over her shoulder, searching for Drayce. She spotted him. Laying face down on the street, unconscious, in a puddle of his own blood. “Oh Zavian, he doesn’t know.” She gasped. Getting to her feet and running over to him.

She rolled him over, praying he wasn’t dead. “Oh, Drayce, you’re such a fool.” She cursed.

“Ella Rose?” Caelum called. All three men were laying inert on the street. Lillia sinfully hoped they were dead. She realized the wooden wreckage strewn across the street was the remains of the wagon that Ella had been in.

She turned back to Drayce. His face was scraped up badly. Blood splattered the front of his shirt. His face was pale and bruised. She hoped that he was just unconscious because of the vast amount of power he had employed.

She shook him as hard as she could. Tears of relief flooded her eyes when he groaned and sucked in air, grabbing at his chest.

“You’re alive!” Lillia exclaimed. “I can’t believe you did that!” She had meant for the last part to come out as a scold, but it sounded more relieved. She barely refrained from smothering him in a hug. He smiled slightly, but it ended up looking more like a grimace.

Lillia looked over and saw Caelum throw some wreckage off Ella, while Cassian stood nearby his tiny hands over his mouth. Lillia glanced at Drayce and he nodded slightly. She got up and ran over to Caelum. She gently took Cassian’s hand and pushed him behind her, just in case.

Ella wasn’t unconscious, like Lillia had expected her to be. She held her obviously broken arm close to her body, tears of pain streaming down her face.

“Oh, Ella.” Caelum breathed, propping her head up. “Let me see your arm.”

She reluctantly dropped her other trembling hand, allowing him to see the damage. Her arm was badly swelling, it was bleeding in spots where the bone stuck through the skin. Lillia looked at Caelum and saw his face was grim. “We need to set your arm as soon as possible.” He said. “We’re taking both you and Cassian back to the castle.” He gently took her uninjured hand. “I’m so sorry you got wrapped up in this.”

She didn’t seem to be able to manage anything but a nod. Caelum picked her up carefully and stood. Lillia looked at Caelum desperately. “I think Drayce used most or all of his power. He’s awake, but not healing.” Caelum nodded and they all walked over to where Drayce still lay, his eyes closed.

Caelum gently set Ella down again, careful not to disrupt her arm too much. He then knelt next to Drayce.

“Drayce can you hear me?” Caelum asked, his nervous eyes flicking to his blood saturated shirt.
