"So what the hell happened," Taigen asked.
"Um, last I remembered, things had been going pretty well," Izaya told him. "Then what I guess was the boss of the place showed up with a few goons. Took out the goons, went for the boss. Ended up using my pyrokinesis, but he sucked them into his mouth with his quirk and got a power boost. He wasn't that strong, but now that I think about it, something was off."
"What do you mean?"
"Well the reason I thought things would be easy and it would be alright for me to go alone was that I hadn't really heard, seen, or even felt Deku lately. And I felt it a bit easier to use my other quirks. But in the middle of the fight, that last bit was no longer true. That fight was harder than it was supposed to be. And then... I blacked out."
"So your alter ego wasn't disappearing. It was just biding time and luring you into a false sense of safety to try and take over again. You need to find a way to get rid of that part of you. Because it's a complete monster."
"How many people died?"
"According to what Cat was able to find out so far, just the leader. And it looks like his head was blown up. So it was either your landmine or overhaul. Considering what you're capable of, it could have been worse."
"Yeah, except it isn't as good as you think."
"What are you talking about? There were serious injuries on pretty much all of them, but considering Deku took over, one death isn't that bad."
"The fuck, one death isn't that bad? I'd be better if there were no deaths. This was supposed to be a stealth mission. Besides, Deku didn't kill them on purpose. He's a sick bastard. He has no problem killing, but he's a sadist who likes to hurt others. When he had fought the UA students in my world during that big war thing, he could have easily killed them with a touch by using overhaul. In fact, overhaul isn't the only one, he just could have killed them. But he didn't want to end the fun like that. He wanted to make them suffer, even with my conscience starting to fight back, he still kept at it."
"Hmm... I see. Well I don't know what to tell you. It's not like I'm an expert on split personalities or whatever the hell you call the thing happening to you. So can you hear him again?"
"Nope, I think he's biding his time again."
"Well shit, that's not good. Well try not to go ballistic during your upcoming exams."
"Forget the exams, I'm more worried about the training camp. I have no idea what's going to happen now that all my memories might as well be trash."
After that, Izaya slowly walked into the room he shared with Tengai and slept. The next day when he got up, after doing his usual morning routine he headed out to school. But Izaya was still nervous about Deku and worried that something similar to last night would happen.
"I forgot to study," Kaminari shouted, interrupting Izaya's thoughts. "With the sports festival and internships it slipped my mind." He was ranked 20th, the lowest in the class. Beside was Mina who for some reason had a small smile and was also laughing even though she was ranked 19th.
"Indeed," Tokoyami muttered. Though he wasn't as bad having ranked 14th.
"We haven't covered many normal subjects so the midterms weren't too hard," Sato said. "But now we had all these other events... the finals are going to be killer."
"Ashido, Kaminari! Let's try our best," Izuku told them. "It'd be great if we could all go to the training camp together."
"Yes," Iida cried.
"Haven't you guys been attending class," Todoroki asked. "How could you possibly fail?"
"Words hurt you know!"
