Amane felt something like air rushing against him for a moment, but it didn't feel quite right. It was cool and thick, almost like a blanket wrapped around him in the snow. His grip tightened on (Y/N)'s hands while the foreign, airy substance seemed to flow around them both, and he kept his eyes sealed shut. Just as suddenly as it had appeared, the strange feeling left him. The air was almost completely still, save for his breath. It smelled old and dusty, like a library that hadn't been touched in a century, but it wasn't unpleasant. His body also felt lighter. He was attached to the ground by a thin string and leaping up could snap it.

"Hold on, face this way," (Y/N) said, letting go of his hands. She turned his body to the right a little, and from behind him she turned his face up. He realized for the first time that her hands were cold, but that thought faded quickly from his mind. Could I really be on the moon? A smile grew on his face, wondering how the spirit could've ever made his wish come true. Her hands left his cheeks, and he missed her delicate touch, despite the cold.

"Now. . . open your eyes!" Her voice was filled with excitement, and without hesitation the boy did as he was told. In front of him, the vast expanse of space and the stars reached out endlessly. Millions upon billions of twinkling lights unfurled in his vision, but he didn't focus on that yet. A large blue, green, and white sphere was a little over the horizon. It took a few moments for Amane to realize that it was Earth, his own planet, rising in the dark sky of the moon. His amber eyes sparkled with a brighter intensity than all the stars around them. An unbreakable look of awe graced his features, and (Y/N) smiled at the boy. He looked at her and then back to the sky.

"Are we really on the moon? Everything looks like it could be real. . ." He trailed off as he searched the sky for anything familiar, and beyond the ball of Earth he saw a faint red glow. Mars.

"No, we're not really on the moon. I made this place, kinda." She sat down and laid back on the blanket she had put out a few hours before, her head next to the little basket from earlier that day. "We're in a place between the world of the living and the dead. We supernaturals say it's between the near shore and the far shore, where nothing can come to life and nothing can lose it. It's the boundary. Supernatural beings roam around everywhere, but a few years ago I discovered that if you have enough power, you can clear out the ones you don't want and change the landscape to be whatever you wanted.

"This is no moon, but with a little borrowing from a few teachers, I managed to get a pretty good idea of what it would be like. No atmosphere, so no wind or weather. The ground is covered in gray dust, and at the perfect time, you could probably see most planets, especially our Earth." She gestured to the sphere in the sky, not that Amane was watching her. He had just seen Japan, and he was squinting to try and get a closer look. (Y/N) laughed a little, and he looked at her again as she stargazed. She pointed a little past herself, and he saw a telescope. The boy rushed over to it, fiddling with the settings so he could get a better look.

"I can't really change how the sky looks, so there's something of a dome that's covering over everything I was able to take control of. It's a barrier, and I managed to show the sky in it. The stars you can see are the view from the rooftop at Kamome though, so it's nothing you haven't seen before, I'm sure." She reached into the basket beside her, pulling out what looked like a ghostly version of a sandwich and biting into it as though it were substantial. "I made everything line up, even if that's not something that could happen in real life, so you can see every planet perfectly. Even Mercury and Venus, even though they shouldn't be on this side." When she finished the sandwich, she got up and stood next to Amane. She put a hand on his shoulder, and he looked up at her.

"Well, what do you think? It's not exactly 'the moon,' but it's the best I can do for your wish." Amane was absolutely speechless for a second, everything he wanted to say swept by too quickly in his mind to grasp it. He shook his head with a grin on his face and stood up straight, not that it helped the fact that he was shorter than the spirit.

"This. . . this is absolutely amazing! I never would've thought something like this was possible! Even the gravity is different, the stars are all in the same places but they're brighter, with no atmosphere to stop the light from coming through. All the planets look just like they do in every picture I've seen, and even this 'moon' that you made looks and seems like almost everything I know about it, it's just. . ." He sat down on the ground, the sky reflecting in his wide eyes.

"You thought of everything. We don't even need suits. I love it. I never want to leave this place." He looked at (Y/N) with a soft, persistent smile on his face. "Thank you, Hanako-san. This is so much better than I ever could've imagined. I never thought you'd be able to do it, but now here we are, on the moon."

"You know, you're sounding awfully confident about doubting me for someone who isn't even in their plane of existence," she responded, a playful smile on her face. "But this wasn't really a problem. I had fun with it all, even though it took a lot out of me. I'm normally much more. . . down to Earth about things. I don't think I've used the boundary to grant a wish before, but it's not like I get many people wishing for things anyways." She was laying on the ground again, next to the boy who was entranced with the planets and stars.

"How come not many people make wishes? It seems like you've done this a million times before"

"Oh c'mon, don't make me feel old. It's not that people don't come wishing all the time, it's that not everyone can summon me. I can only grant a wish if I've been summoned."

"I thought the knocking and asking if you were there summoned you though?" He stopped gazing at the stars long enough to see her expression waver momentarily.

"Well, it does, but only if the person doing the summoning has the ability to. There's a lot of detail in it that there's not really a point in getting into, but you're one of the special people that can do it." She flashed him a smile, then sat up and grabbed the basket, opening it up in front of them. Delicious smells drifted upwards that made their mouths water, and Amane saw a variety of wrapped food in it.

"Now, go ahead and have something to eat. The students at Kamome are pretty good cooks, and I'd hate to let the food go to waste, but I think the mokke took a little too much." She unwrapped some of the rice cakes, and pulled away a transparent version of it, handing Amane the still physical one. She laughed at his dumbfounded expression when she bit into it.

"What are mokke, and what did you just do?" He inspected the rice cake she had handed him to ensure nothing strange was going on with it.

"I'm a ghost. I can't really eat anything, and I don't really need to either, but this way I'm still able to enjoy food, kind of." She finished her rice cake. "It's weird, because I don't really taste or eat it. It's more like a really strong smell in my mouth. The better the food is though, the better I feel. I guess it's kind of the way offerings work, not that these were really offerings." She leaned back on her hands, looking at the sky.

"And the mokke are those little pink rabbits you see around. I'm sure you've seen them a few times anyways. They have a certain talent for pickpocketing and taking things without getting noticed. I was too busy preparing all of this to worry about snatching some extra food, so I made a deal with them."

"Why take it, can't you make some appear here?"

"I could, not that you could eat really it though. Don't worry, I instructed them to only take food that looked like people weren't going to eat it. Now, we have more important things to discuss." She turned to face him, and he stopped in the middle of grabbing another thing from the basket.

    "Something important?"

    "Yes. My payment."

A/N
Ok I went waaay over my normal word count for this chapter (by about 600), but I loved describing everything. I'm not sure if it's any good, but I really couldn't wait to write this chapter. I think next chapter will be mostly on the moon too, and I'll be introducing someone new, and I'm really excited to do that.

ALSO, very important!! From this point on, if you haven't read the manga, you will run into spoilers. I don't know exactly what chapters they'll be in, or if there's even going to be any spoilers next chapter, but once it gets brought up it will most likely continue to be mentioned throughout the story.

On that note, see you all next time!
