Today is the day that I can finally break the barrier that's preventing me from talking to Kihyun.

I woke up very early because we have one last training before the competition.

I didn't attend school today so I asked Jooheon to persuade Kihyun to watch our competition. I didn't get information after that.

We trained for one more hour before leaving the center.

Luckily, the location of the competition isn't that far so I don't have to worry about Kihyun getting motion sickness.

I waited until the area started to get full. I saw my friends walking inside. I couldn't go to them so I just waved.

I didn't see Kihyun with them. I was upset about it. Now I know what Kihyun felt that day.

"Today's competition is a team race elimination. If one member of your team gets last in the race, he or she will be eliminated. Another member will take over her position. If all members get eliminated then the team will lose." the announcer explained.

We decided that we will enter the competition from the weakest to the strongest.

They decided that I'll be the one racing last since I'm the best in races.

The competition started and we were not expecting the other teams to be good. They have improved a lot.

Our team members started to lose one by one because of extreme exhaustion.

We lost members so fast that it was already my turn. The other teams have three to four members left while I'm the only one left in our team.

Before I went to my place, I checked if Kihyun was there but like before he was not.

The race started, it wasn't hard at first but it became harder as the race continued.

I was having a hard time breathing, I need to take a break, all that was given to us was a five minute short break and that's it.

I barely made it to the last round.

"Only two team remains, your last athlete will be given a fifteen-minute break."

Finally. I'll probably pass out if I didn't get a chance to take a rest.

Time passed by too quickly and the race started. I did my best to beat the other player.

"It looks like a tie, we will rewatch the footage."

The footage played in slow motion on the big screen.

"It's very clear that Son Hyunwoo won the game."

The crowd cheered and clapped.

I did it.

I won.

I can finally talk to him again.

I went inside the locker room to cool down.

"Congrats, Hyunwoo Hyung. You fought for our team." Bang Chan gave me a glass of water.

"Thanks but I didn't do all the work, everyone did."

"No, you're the one who won. You raced 5 times straight. You deserve all the recognition."

"You did well too."

"When are we having a celebration?" he asked.

"I don't know, ask our coach."

"The celebration will be held on Saturday, my treat." our coach interfered.

The guards allowed my friends to enter the room.

"You did well Hyung, congrats," Jooheon said.

"Thanks"

I cooled down for a bit before returning to my home. I was drained and I have school tomorrow.

Great.

I went straight to bed so that I can have a longer time to rest.

I was woken up by the sound of my alarm. I looked at the time and I'm almost late.
I rushed into the bathroom and took a quick shower.

I wore my clothes and ran down the stairs. I didn't get to eat breakfast because the class will almost start.

I made it to our school on time.

I walked down the corridor to our lockers, I quickly grabbed the things that I need.

I walked inside the room and sat down beside Changkyun who was talking to Hoseok.

"Hyung" Wonho suddenly threw me a zip lock back. It was clear so I can see what's inside.

There are a letter and a sandwich.

"I heard that you won so meet me at the park, at 6 pm sharp. I wouldn't be waiting for you and it looks like you woke up late so have a sandwich so you don't get hungry."

"Hamzzi" I read at the bottom of the letter.

He finally talked to me. I will remember it this time.

After a few hours, the class ended and we all went back home.

I rested for a few hours in my room before preparing to see Kihyun in the park.

I decided to wear a hoodie because it's getting late and cold.

I walked to the park where I saw a silhouette. A small one. Sitting on a bench. I walked to the place where he was sitting.

"Kihyun?"

"Hyunwoo" he ran into my arms and started to cry. I comforted him even though I don't know what happened.

"I'm sorry that I ignored you."

"No, you have the right to do so. I broke my promise."

We sat down on the bench. He didn't let go of me. He just stayed there, crying on my chest.

I grabbed the tissue in my pocket and wiped the tears coming out from his eyes.

"Don't cry, I don't like seeing you like this."

"S-sorry, it's just my father."

"What happened?"

"He went home early and I cooked dinner. He didn't like it so he scolded me. I guess I'm not good at cooking. I'm sorry if I'm such a baby, I easily cry to things like this."

"It's okay." I wiped the tears that were forming in his eyes. "Not good? Are you kidding me? You're the best chef in the world."

"You think so?" he looked up to me.

"Yeah"

I placed his head on my shoulder as we watched the beautiful sunset. I felt cold water dripping down from the sky.

It started raining.

I quickly took off my hoodie and gave it to him.

I don't want him to get sick and my hoodie has thick fabric so if it rains hard, he would be soaked in water.

He looks cute in an oversized hoodie.

I mean, he's always cute.

We hurried and ran as fast as we could but not fast enough. We stopped at a nearby waiting shed. We stayed there until the rain ended.
