Barrier

"Where are you going?!" Alyssa shouted at me. I left her standing in there and started running towards our house. I'm not mistake. Whatever that magic is, it's coming from our house. And gods, I hope nothing's happening to them.

It would take two blocks before I reach the house so I summoned Agnes, in case a fight breaks out. Since I was running, she appeared before me, also running. I saw Alyssa in my peripheral view, following us.

"August, you seem disoriented. You have fear in your face. What is the problem?" She asked as we made a turn.

"Something is in the house. Something strong. We felt the strong magic power." I said. Her face got serious all of a sudden. I guess she also felt the same magic.

"Agnes, hurry into the house. Make sure everything is fine." I instructed her and she nodded before running faster. Moments like this reminds me that she's not just created to be in my servitude. She's a born fighter. And for a week that I've been with her, this is the first time I actually instructed her to do something.

I don't feel comfortable commanding her even though she's given to me to serve me, just like how Argus serves Hera. I don't feel comfortable commanding others since I let others around me to do whatever they. That's how I acted in school, and only showed my affection at the house, for the kids.

"Wait! Why are you running so fast?!" I heard Alyssa shout behind us so I stopped running to let her catch up. When she eventually caught up, we started running again. I am a fast runner since then. I'm surprised how fast Alyssa can run, but I'm guessing living and being part of nature would give her the stamina to do so.

"The magic came from the house I live in." I explained to her and turned to the next block.

We saw Agnes standing in front of the gate and she looked at us when we stopped running.

Why is she not entering? The house seems normal, and it's the same as before, but the intense magic power is still here and it's much stronger now that we're near it.

"The magic is too strong." Alyssa commented.

"I can't enter, August." Agnes explained making us look at her with confusion.

Alyssa looks at the house again. "Why not? Just open the gate." She suggested and went to open it. I watched her as she tried to open the gate but Agnes suddenly shouted, for the first time, she shouted.

"Miss Alyssa! You must not!"

But Alyssa was too stubborn and didn't listen to Agnes' warning and touched the gate, pushing it open.

The second Alyssa touched the gate, she was sent flying to the road behind us. My eyes widened in surprise on how fast things happened. She was just standing then she was blasted by something! How in the realms did that happen?! Who did that?!

Before Alyssa could crash into the ground, Agnes was fast enough to catch her and prevent her from crashing. Alyssa looked like she was beaten up a bit when Agnes was carrying her.

Her shirt and her short had some rip because of what happened and there are dirt marks in her face. Her hair looked a little dishevelled compared to how straight it looked seconds ago. She was coughing and discomfort is visible on her face.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked and she nodded.

Her mark lit green before the light disappeared and she coughed again.
