Truth
. . .
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" My shouts grew louder and louder as I poured my frustration through every word that came out of my mouth.
I ran as far away as possible, not minding where my legs took me. I just ran, knowing that I want to get away from that house for now. Now that I'm confused. Now that I'm having the sense of anger towards everyone, towards everything. And tears pooled my eyes just thinking about the frustration that I felt all over again.
Several twigs made me trip up, and even though my legs aren't still that fully healed, and even though my clothes are dirty, I never stopped running away.
"No!"
I kept telling myself that what I learned isn't real, but as much as I want this day, this moment to be a dream where I would wake up any time now, I know that this isn't. And that makes me so frustrated!
. . .
"In the Chinese Pantheon, there is a popular story about 12 particular animals." Isos started talking as we listened intently to her.
She's talking as if she knew every words inside the scroll, like she read it over and over.
"The story started with the Jade Emperor, an important deity in the Chinese Pantheon. He invited all the animals in the world to take part on a race that would determine twelve animals. Twelve animals who would symbolize the calendar. After the race ended, the animals were determined.
The Rat and the Ox came first and second, respectively by helping each other. Followed by the Tiger. The Rabbit came in fourth place when the Dragon arrived and helped him as he arrived as the fifth. Then the Snake cunningly held onto the Horse and jumped near the line, making it the sixth, and the horse as the seventh. The Sheep, the Monkey, and the Rooster arrived together in that order. The Dog was fast but he got distracted and played at the water, earning him the eleventh spot, and the last one was the Pig.
That story is relatively known throughout the Chinese Pantheon and is one of the famous stories across the world. It's not just a race, you see. It created a symbol and, somewhat, a system, something that we now know as the Chines Zodiacs. The years started with the year of the Rat, and ends with the year of the Pig."
So the scroll's content was the story of how the Chinese Zodiac was formed. But how is it connected to... what did she say earlier? Apostles? And why are the headmasters saying that they're the current apostles, and how is it connected to the marks that we have?
I can't be mistaken. The marks on their bodies are also Prima Potentia. The same marks that the eight of us have.
"Is that it? Just a story about animals?" Fur asked in disbelief.
Even I'm surprised about that. We kept searching for books that would lead us to an answer to our questions regarding this marks, and now that we found the secret room and the only thing in it that could help us understand this, it turned out to be a story about animals?
Are they fucking kidding us?
"No." She added before he face was filled with confusion.
"I told myself that after I read the scroll, I would give it to Summer. But..." She trailed off.
But even she can't understand what the story meant. And how it is connected to our marks. And I know why, because it doesn't make any sense!
How are those twelve animals the solution to our problem?
