. . .
"How old are you, Alyssa?" Blade asked.
She looked at me. Uneasiness is visible on her face so I signaled her to relax. Papa Kane also saw how tensed she was so he patted her back to calm her down. Blade and Matilda chuckled at her tensed expression.
"Why are you nervous?" Matilda asked with a smile.
"I-I'm 17 y-years old." She stuttered.
"A-And uh," She tried to say but her voice is shaking too much. Mama Iris and Papa Kane switched places so Mama Kane could comfort Alyssa. She caressed her back, and that seems like it soothed Alyssa's feeling.
She took a deep breath before speaking again. "I-I'm sorry if I s-summoned my w-weapon earlier." If she can just sink at her seat, I guess she would immediately do it. Her face is bushing so hard!
I chuckled at her. "I apologize as well." I said and looked at Morgana Tria.
"I just felt something went we touched, and it alarmed me so my instinct was to summon my weapon." I explained and she just nodded.
Felt something, huh? When our hands touched, it was like waves of something I don't know flowed throughout my body. It isn't magic, but it was something strong. So strong that all my dreams became clear to me. I can clearly remember things from my dream, and things I can't put my hands on. Things that doesn't make sense to me. In just one touch, she made me feel those things and I was scared. How she did that? I don't know. But I was scared.
"How about you, August?" Matilda asked.
"I'm the same age as her." I said.
Unlike Alyssa, I don't feel as shy with them. I think they're comfortable to talk with, and their magic power just gave a bad first impression since it's too strong. After all, it's not every day you get to encounter demigods, let alone demigods as strong as them.
And there's something inside me telling me that I shouldn't be scared at them.
"So you already finished magic schools?" She asked so I nodded my head. I just finished it in fact.
Magic Schools are considered the secondary level of magic education. To people who doesn't possess any magic, they attend normal secondary school. But magic users like me can attend magic schools to enhance our magical abilities. Magic users can also attend normal secondary schools and not prioritize their magic, but it's impossible for normal people to attend magic schools.
Back then, I decided to attend a normal school since I'm not that interested in my magic but Mama Iris and Papa Kane insisted I should study at a magic school. So now that I'm a graduate in a magic school, I can attend a magic academy but I already made up my mind to not to.
On the other hand, Alyssa shook her head. Come to think of it, if she lives in this town, I would've seen her at already since there's only one magic school in this town. She doesn't seem like a magic user that would pick a normal school.
"Why not?" Sword asked for the first time as he looked at Alyssa.
"I didn't go to any school. I'm just at the woods my whole life." She answered.
The four looked at each other.
"But you know how to use your magic?" Blade asked.
Alyssa nodded.
"Can you really?" He asked again and Alyssa nodded again.
"I can! The trees taught me how to use my abilities and how should I control it. And the rivers also taught me how to apply it in what I do. Like living, and when I try to fight. Or when I hunt for food." She said.
