Cave of Elders

The Elders? Like the woman earlier who tried to kill Farron for sleeping with one of the Anthousais? And when she referred to them as Elders, does that mean they're old, or they're some sort of high ranking or some sort of leader for the creatures in this place?
Morgana first entered the cave as she greeted some of the creatures who greeted her back. She looked back at me and nodded her head, signalling me to follow her.
I entered the cave as well while looking at the creatures on the side. There were nymphs, pans and I can even see some satyrs. This is the first time I saw creatures of their kind since they're not really running around the town and I've only been in the woods for like two times in my entire life. Seeing them in person, not just in textbooks, doesn't feel scary. They look interesting like I thought they would be, but now that I'm near them, it feels amazing.
Some of them smiled at me when they saw me so I smiled back them. How fascinating.
Morgana continued walking so I did the same as well. The more we walk inside, the darker it gets. I thought Morgana would bring out a light of some sort but she just kept on walking that it made me nervous I'd bump into something.
After what it seemed like a minute of walking, and times when we had to crouch down so we won't bump our heads into rocks, we reached the inside of the cave.
And it is far from a narrow place. It's a big area where different plants that glowed inside the cave were surrounding the walls of the cave. The ground is paved and from our area, I realized that were at the highest part. A stairway leading to the lowest part is in front of us. Morgana looked at me before signalling me to climb down the stairs.
Looking at where the stair would lead to, I saw a wide, paved circle on the middle of the cave and it the place was wide enough that pillars stood by the side. Seven pillars stood outside the circle.
And inside the circle, were seven people seated at their own chairs. Four of them were women, and the three are men. The watched us as we descended down the stairs.
They're the Elders?
The moment we arrived at the middle of the circle, the people who are sitting stood up and kneeled on one knee. What? Why are they kneeling before us? Or are they kneeling to Morgana? I looked at Morgana to ask what's happening but I also saw her bowing down to the people.
Are we supposed to bow to each other?
Since I don't want to look or act arrogant, I bowed to the people as well and we all rise up as Morgana looked at everyone.
Morgana looked at me before the people sat at their chairs again.
She leaned closer to me. "Kneel on your one knee, and introduce yourself." She told me, and it made me look at her with confusion.
"Why would I kneel?" I whispered back.
She then spoke at my ear. But this time, she wasn't telling it to me. It sounded like she's instructing me, and my body followed on its own. Great, she did it again.
I kneeled on one knee and with eyes on the ground, I introduced myself.
"I am August Phillip. Worshipper of Hera." I said but didn't move as I waited for them to speak.
After a few seconds, a voice of a man spoke. "Rise, worshipper of Hera." He said so I looked up and realized that the man in the middle was the one who spoke to me.
