It was a cold morning when Adora got ready for school. Amelia had been fussing all morning latching onto her like a monkey. She tried getting ready as quickly as possible throwing on a pair of blue jeans and a pink blouse. She tied her long blonde hair back adding a pink bow to finish the look.
She grabbed her backpack before heading downstairs. Her parents already sat at the table already having breakfast. "Morning" she chirped taking a seat right next to Amelia who eagerly climbed into her lap.
"No Amelia, sit in your big girl chair" her mother scolded. She whined and kicked her legs having a fit. Adora calmly raked a hand through her hair as she knew this would calm her down a bit.
"You better hurry or you'll be late" her mother reprimanded. Adora smashed a piece of toast and bacon in her mouth before swallowing it down with a glass of orange juice.
"Alright I'm headed out... I'm going over Nuri's house to study for a project after school" Adora said. She kissed her parents goodbye before waving goodbye to Amelia.
Shoving her coat and hat on, she made her way outside starting her annual walk. She decided to take her time today since she was a bit early. Snowflakes began to fall, as the cold wind blew wildly. She thanked the heavens she had remembered to bring her gloves.
After six minutes of walking she finally arrived at school. A few students waited in the parking lot as it was only 8:00. Class didn't officially start until 8:15, she made her way to her locker . She felt a nudge against her arm turning to see a grinning Nuri.
"Sooo I'm just going to be frank. The party last night was awesome! You should have came" Nuri said with a pout. Adora shrugged her shoulders before shutting her locker closed.
"You know why I couldn't come. Did Lauren go with you"? Adora asked as they walked slowly down the hall to their first period class of the day. Students started to pile in going to their respective classes.
"She bailed on me last minute! Said her parents were making her attend a family dinner". Nuri whined, rolling her almond eyes in agitation. They walked inside the classroom going to their usual seats.
"By the way we have detention today. I told my mom I'd be going to your house since I didn't tell her I got another detention this week" Adora cringed just thinking about it. Getting detention every week wasn't something she was proud of.
Soon the teacher arrived and class soon began. Nuri spent the whole time making paper airplanes, while Adora tried finishing her assignment before the end of class. Suddenly feeling the urge to use the bathroom she excused herself making her way out the classroom.
She ran to the bathroom quickly doing her business. When she was finished she stepped out the bathroom to see her other bestfriend Lauren waiting in front of the admissions office.
"Hey Lauren, heard you bailed on Nuri yesterday" she gently nudged her shoulder with a grin. A tall dark haired figure stood in the office, his back facing them.
"I told her I had something I needed to do. Anyway I'm just here showing a new student around. Adora you have to meet him... he's gorgeous looking" Lauren cooed, her eyes glancing back in forth into the office.
Suddenly he turned around and Adora gasped in shock. "Wesley... your back"! She angled her neck up as he was much taller than her. He had definitely changed since she last saw him before he left for boarding school.
He stood with his mouth agape. He couldn't believe it.. finally, she was here. Adora giggled a little when he openly stared at her, "well where is my hug"? She teased opening her arms wide.
Regaining his composure he charged towards pulling her into his arms. "Is this really happening"? He whispered softly against her blonde hair. Lauren stood aside confused, her fists balling as she watched them embrace each other.
Wesley stood back to get a good look at her. She was really short as he had to look down abit to look her in the eye. Adora squirmed under his piercing gaze, he had grown up and boy did he look good.
He practically shoved his schedule in her face. "Please tell me we at least have some classes together" he whined playfully as he grabbed her arm. Adora smiled wide her eyes crinkling at the sides.
She examined his schedule as he continued to stare at her openly. "Your in luck we have three classes together, computer science, math, and gym" she giggled softly. He nudged his head against her not wanting to let go just yet.
Lauren cleared her throat gaining their attention. "I've been assigned to show him around as I'm part of the committee, if you don't mind" she said sharply snatching his schedule out of her hands.
"I...I should get back to class. I'll see you later Wes" she pulled away with a grin. With one last look she made her way back to class. Her heart felt as if it would pummel out of her chest. She had missed him alot and couldn't wait to catch up.
Strange...what is this weird feeling..
She thought as she strolled inside the classroom. "Took you long enough, I was beginning to think you got lost" Nuri joked as she sat back down in her seat.
"I ran into Lauren... she's showing Wesley around". Nuri's eyes grew wide at her words as if already conjuring up some master plan. The rest of class continued on with her begging for answers wanting to know everything about him.
Soon lunch time came around, and Adora felt extremely famished. She strolled alongside Nuri as they made there way inside the cafeteria. Ordering food as soon as Adora turned around she came face to face with a hard chest.
She looked up into a grinning Wesley, "What's up piggy"? He said showing off his pearly white teeth. She gulped at hearing him use her childhood nickname. Nuri snorted loudly as she openly looked him up and down.
"Wes... please don't call me that" she begged with a roll of her eyes. He simply shrugged grabbing her tray of food into his hands. Frowning she was shocked when he grabbed her hand pulling her towards a table where Lauren sat.
"Why is she here? I thought you were going to grab lunch not...her" Lauren said with hostility. Confused Adora didn't understand where the sudden rudeness was coming from. Wesley simply did not pay her any mind.
"It's nice to see you too Lauren" Adora said playing it off. Nuri already could tell Lauren had a sudden interest in Wesley. She kept her mouth shut, drinking her usual amounts of water to stay hydrated.
The rest of lunch Adora got to catching up with Wesley. Everytime she spoke he clinged on to every word. She had learned that for the most part he spent his days at boarding training everyday. It was impressive to say the least which was why Adora couldn't help but glance at his muscles every now and then.
As the rest of the day continued on Adora groaned when it was time for her to go to detention. Arriving in the room it was her and some other student she didn't know. The teacher by the desk didn't glance up when she went to take a seat.
And of course, Nuri left once school was let out.
