"i cant explain how much i missed you" payton said joyfully as him and ellie were cuddling, while scrolling through tiktok.

"me too" ellie smiled up at him.

joanne suddenly walked into paytons room. the two were at the moormeier house.

"hey el, i suppose you are staying over night  then?

payton looked at ellie hopefully, mentally telling her that she would stay.

"i'd love to"

ellie and payton both put the finishing touches to the pillow fort. yes, they had one in ellie's room but just made one to for payts room.

ellie was placing pillows and more fluffy blankets inside the masterpiece as the pair decided they would have a little movie night. eat some snacks, laugh and watch movies and tv shows. an ideal event.

payton slowly crawled into the 'hangout' and curled up beside ellie who was fiddling with the remote, trying to get the mini tv they brought up especially for this purpose, to work.

eventually, after some time, ellie got it to work and the tv screen flickered to life and the opening credits scenes flashed by.

payton who was lying down fully now and curled up like a ball sighed peacefully and made grabby hands towards the bowl of popcorn which was lying fully in els lap.

"nahhh" ellie snickered as she lifted the bowl away from payton's reach. she the picked up a few pieces and said

"only if you catch them in your mouth"

payton rolled her eyes at  the girls request but sat himself up anyway to do it. he was a pro after all.

ellie threw the fourth piece of popcorn in the air. payton had so far caught all of the kernels except one. which he said was because he got 'distracted'. excuses excuses.

payton opened his mouth wide and caught the popcorn, gleefully, he crunched down on it.

ellie thought he deserved a bit more and pushed the massive bowl in his direction. when he caught on to what she was signalling he merrily and gratefully grabbed it and continued eating.

again just like before the credits rolled through the screen. except now, it was for the end of the movie dvd.

"that was a great movie" payton yawned and started fluffing up his pillows to settle down on them.

"definitely"

"wanna go to sleep?" suggested the exhausted boy, it had been a long day for him.

"you can, i think i'm going to watch one episode of dance moms"

"season one?"

"nope season two, i only watch season one to four. once kelly and christi  left it just wasn't the same" exclaimed the addict of the popular american reality show.

"mhm hm" mumbled payton, he wasn't a follower of the show, and rarely understood when  ellie talked about it most of the time.

"one episode will probably turn into like five" he added, mumbling as he turned away, his back facing the girl who was clicking into the video of the iconic dance show.

"wow you do be exposing me"

"wake up, wake up!" ellie screamed as she threw pillows at the still sleeping boy.

things never change. ellie waking up before payt and waking him up. of course.

payton mumbled a few inaudible words and incoherent sentences as he shook himself awake.

"ellie?" he muttered groggily.

"yessir, now get your lazy ass up and let's get mcdonaldsssss" she exclaimed as she yanked on payton's arm, trying to get him to stand up, although you couldn't really stand up in the fort, then she wanted him to at least sit up.

"fine fine give me a little bit"
