"anywayyyy bye payt i have to go, i'm going to mcdonald's with the gang" ellie said as she waved to payton while they were on there daily facetime call. it was four days later.
"bye bye"
the sound of the call ending could be heard as ellie pressed the red X button.
"ellie!!! cmon we're waiting" came josh's impatient voice.
"chilll i'm coming" was ellie's reply.

"twenty chicken nuggets and some fries please" ellie ordered to the kind cashier behind the counter at the mcdonald's restaurant nearby.
"ok right you are, and what beverage would you like with that?"
"water please"
"ok thanks very much, you order number is 28 and your total will be 10.50"
ellie got handed a little slip of paper which included her receipt and the number 28 printed on it in big black lettering.
she handed over the cash and thanked the cashier yet again and made her way over to the destined table where the others were sitting at, waiting for their food.
as ellie sat down beside nessa she pulled out her phone and decided to post on instagram and tiktok. she already had all the pictures loaded up because mads was so kind and let her use her computer instead of ellies shitty laptop. a few clicks of her long, black nails and they were up.

ellie placed her device back into its original spot, her pocket, and took a look around the table.
nessa was on her phone.
josh was on his phone.
jaden was on his phone.
mads was on her phone.
ellie sighed quietly without the others noticing and looked out the window at the 'amazing' view, a gas station.
suddenly ellie's ears picked up a shout saying "order number 28!!!" she glanced down at the slip of paper still clutched in her hand and realised it was hers. the others didn't notice a thing.
as she stood up, the others were too absorbed in whatever was going on in their virtual life, to even notice, ellie strode over and within a few seconds she was at the counter picking up her meal.
