"Well, some people use their imagination"
Lace sits in the dining room, bored as hell. She looks over and sees a record player and decides to play a song to give her something to do. Lace walks over to the vinyl and sees a "The killers" album and decides to play that. The soft drum beats of Mr.Brightside fill the room, Lace gently bobbing to the music. When the door opens Lace peeks over to see a tall man in a police outfit and a lady wearing a long dress with a slit in it.
"Oh, Judy and Max, come in," Daliah says while waving them in and her voice welcoming.
"This is my daughter Lace. Lace this is Judy and Max,I work with them at the facility." Daliah explains to Lace and ushers all of them to the dining table. As they sit down Judy asks Lace a question,
"So Lace, are you planning to be a Psychologist?"
"Um, I want to be a journalist and report breaking news" Lace signs and Daliah sighs, Max sensing tension changes the topic asks Lace another question,
"So what school do you go to?" Max asks.
"St. Rosalina's" Lace signs as Max's face brightens.
"Oh, that's great! My son is going there tomorrow for his senior year" Judy mutters as Lace nods, tired, and wanting to do her homework and sleep.
"Why couldn't your son come today?" Daliah wonders out loud as Lace's death stares her mother for asking.
"Val just came from Australia and is a bit jet-lagged" Max explains, noticing Lace about to fall asleep, rubbing her eyes.
"I think that we should go," Max says softly, not wanting to disturb the almost sleeping Lace. Daliah nods and gets up while softly rubbing Lace's back to get her awake.
"Lace, Max, and Judy are leaving, can you say goodbye?" Daliah whispers as Lace groggily waves goodbye and marches up to her room. When Lace gets into her room she chucks her heels into the unknown oblivion and runs to her bathroom to get out of the dress. Lace walks out in shorts and a tank top and drags her backpack to her desk and gets working on her homework.
"Lace, how did you like them?" Daliah questions Lace, wanting to know. Lace just gives an exhausted thumbs up while Daliah nods.
"Well Max is the police commissioner, so if you see his son be sure to treat him with respect," Daliah says while softly closing the door. A couple of hours later Lace shuts her computer down exhausted from all her homework and looks at the clock seeing its two am, she has school in five hours. Lace sighs softly and jumps on her bed falling asleep with the new student on her mind.
