Lace ditched the next day of school to get ready for her unannounced trip. It was currently eight am and she was still wrapped in her covers, mentally making a to-do list when her phone buzzed. It was Jonah,

From: Jonah

Where are you?

To: Jonah

I'm at home. Meet me at Target if you want to talk.12 o'clock.

From: Jonah

Ok.

Lace mentally whines as she still has to get up but does so anyway. She walks into the bathroom and brushes her teeth, grimacing as the brush nicks a cut. She walks downstairs and freezes hearing Edith Pilaf playing on the radio and the scent of chocolate crepes filling the air. Lace cautiously walks downstairs and relaxes seeing that her mom is going through the typical "We're going to France" vibe. She goes to sit down a the table and gets a sloppy kiss from her mom,

"Bonjour Lace! Did you get everything you needed from the store?"

Lace shakes her head and with a mouthful of chocolate signs,

"No, I had to get the backpack materials and I need a couple of hygiene products." Daliah nods with thought and after a few minutes says,

"I can't come with you, I have to turn in my slip to the pathetic excuse of a commissioner today. I trust that you have money and are willing to walk there?"

"Maman in order to get revenge for Bee I need you to uphold your relationship with Max. Oui? Ok. As for shopping I will go in two hours." Lace puts her plate in the sink and looks at her mom, who is nodding. She puts her plate in the sink as well and exits the doorway to go see Max. Lace walks upstairs and starts to get ready. She slips on an old volleyball shirt and a pair of leggings, stopping at the door to tie her hair into a french braid. Lace puts on her shoes and stuffs her wallet, keys, and phone into a small backpack before shutting off the lights and closing the door. Lace stands from her porch and starts the journey to the Target.
