It had been a week since the last conversation that Yuki and Tsukishima shared. Sure, they sat next to eachother in class but neither of them started conversation with the other. Even the snarky little comments from Tsukishima had stopped.
It had just been...quiet.
Only two more weeks until Yuki was able to go home and she couldn't be more excited. She was going to be able to hug her mom and her dad and her little sister and make a decision to return to Karasuno or stay home and go to a local school.
Although, Yuki decided that if she had to make that decision in two weeks, she was going to spend those two weeks searching for her long lost friend; I mean, it is what she came to Karasuno for.
Yuki desperately wished that two years ago, Shimizu had told her more about the boy she was following to Karasuno, maybe she could get a lead somehow, but all she remembered Shimizu telling her was that they were in love.
Anyway, it was after classes, closer to the evening and Yuki had decided to take a break from her work and go outside, after all, it was very nice out that day.
She grabbed her headphones, and her keys and walked out the door wearing a pair of shorts and a big T-shirt, her hair tied up in a messy bun above her head.
She wasn't dressed up in her uniform, and her hair wasn't done like it normally would be for school, but after all, school had been over for hours, there was probably nobody on campus anyway.
She was enjoying the peaceful walk admiring the trees and the flowers and the cool breeze that was blowing past her as she walked.
For the first time in a while, she felt perfectly content. As if everything wrong in her life just paused, and blew away with the wind.
She knew it wouldn't last long. She knew that as soon as she was back in her room, all alone, she was going to feel the crippling loneliness once again, not even having anybody to text for comfort other than her own mother.
As she was walking, she began to hear loud bangs, many at a time, and it didn't stop. She turned her music down to investigate and continued to walk straight towards the noise.
Finally, she took a left and realized what was happening.
The volleyball club was still practicing.
She walked down the hallway leading to the gym doors, wondering if she was allowed to peak in. I mean, she as sort-of friends with two of the members and she had met their captain so it should be fine.
Yuki ended up standing outside the door contemplating what to do, just like the first day of school when she was late.
And just like then, before she could make a decision on what she should do, the door opened right in front of her.
"Ah, I knew someone was out here" A silver haired boy thought out loud.
"I'm so sorry!" Yuki Bowed in front of the older boy, "I was taking a walk and I heard a bunch of bangs so I wanted to see what it was, and turns out it was just volleyball!" She chuckled nervously, finally noticing all the boys from inside the gym staring at her.
All but one.
"No worries, we were just finishing up anyway. Would you like to watch the rest of practice?" He smiled, and gestures for her to enter the gymnasium.
"Sure! I always wanted to see what volleyball was like!" She agreed, happily walking into the gym.
"You'll have to sit by yourself for now since our manager is out, but we're only going to be a few minutes longer anyway." He smiled, walking back towards the court, "Oh, by the way, I'm Sugawara Koushi, third year, it's nice to meet you."
