Maddie's POV:
"Wait, what?!?!?!" I ask Elijah.
He just asked me out. My best friend just asked me out.
"So, will you?" He asks again with a hopeful look on his face.
I am in shock, and I just say, "I'm sorry Elijah, but... I can't."
"What?!?!" Now he looks shocked.
"Look, Elijah, I really, really, really, like you. But not like that. I am so sorry."
He won't look at me now.
I feel tears forming in my eyes.
He walks out of my room and out of my house.
"Elijah wait!!" I say, but he just keeps walking.
I start crying, and crying, and crying.
Then I run back to my room, lock my door, fall on my bed, and cry my eyes out.
I think I just lost my best friend, my only friend.
Elijah's POV:
I run back in my house.
"YOU LIED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!" I yell at Derik's face.
"About what?" He asks.
"You know exactly what!!" I yell at him.
I run to my room, lock my door, fall on my bed, and cry my eyes out.
I knew this would ruin our friendship.
