The title is kind of a tongue twister LOL. Hope you like the chapter and the book so far ✌️✌️
--------------------Maddie's POV:
Elijah and I walk over to the snack bar and sit down.
"So, Elijah..." I start saying.
"Oh, right," he hits his head and makes a face like 'pshht duh, I'm stupid', "Elijah Coleman."
Seeing him do that makes me giggle.
"And you are..."
"Braxton, Maddie Braxton" I say like how James Bond does.
That makes Elijah laugh.
Then we both start laughing.
"So, Maddie, tell me about yourself"
I look at him weird.
"Hey I saved your life, I have a right to know" He says.
"Your right," I giggle, "Umm... I'm 17 years old, I am a total tomboy, my favorite color is blue-"
"What kind of blue?" Elijah asks pointing my finger at me.
"Umm, the color of the ocean. I love the ocean. I love surfing it, I love surfing." I say starting to daze away.
"I can see that, you've been out there for 2 hours" he says.
I give him another weird look.
"Well I would know, I'm a lifeguard. I have to be watching the surfers. It's my job."
I giggle again.
"Umm, oh right, I live right over there," I point to my house, "and I love hanging out at Angelo's Burgers."
"Really?!?! Me too!!" Elijah exclaims.
"Now, Elijah, tell me about you"
Elijah's POV:
"Umm..." I start, "I'm a lifeguard, I surf too, I'm 17, I live right... next door to you actually-"
"Really, cool" Maddie says.
"Oh yeah, and I'm homeschooled." I finish.
"Oh yeah, I am too. That's why I have so much surfing time." Maddie says
We talk for about 15 more minutes; then I see some girls whispering and making a face at us like 'Why are they talking to each other?'
"Hey Maddie, I think your friends are looking at us weird." I say pointing to the girls.
"No, those aren't my friends. I honestly don't have any friends." She looks down, "I guess that because I've been homeschooled since kindergarten; I've never been able to actually interact with people and make friends."
Poor Maddie. She seems like a really nice girl, why wouldn't anyone wanna be her friend.
Well, I don't have any friends either, I don't know why though. Maddie seems to like me, why doesn't anybody else.
I got it!
"Well, Maddie, since you don't have any friends, and I don't have any friends, why don't I do us both a favor and ask you to be my friend."
She looks up at me and says, "Really?!?! I would love to be your friend!!!"
"Great, and since I don't have any other friends, you are automatically my best friend." I say and her face lights up and she grows a smile ear to ear.
