The Accident

Maddie's POV:

I stop crying and sit on my bed thinking.

I don't like Elijah, well I do, I really, really, really do, but not like that.

I can't believe he actually likes me.

My best friend wanted to be more than just friends.

I can't believe it.

All of these thoughts roam around in my mind.

Elijah's POV:

I stopped crying and sit on my bed thinking.

I really like Maddie.

She is my best and only friend.

I just ruined everything. I am so stupid. Of course she doesn't like me back.

I start having a mini tantrum on my bed by punching and kicking my pillows.

My mom comes in and says, "Sweetie, are you ok?"

"Ya, I'm fine. I'm just bored."

Not really, kinda.

"Why aren't you hanging out with Maddie then?"

"Because... we got into a fight" I say looking down.

"Well, Elijah, you know what the Bible says. You have to be the bigger person" My mom says.

I think about it for a second.

"Your right mom. I'm gonna go apologize."

No Ones POV:

In the meantime at Maddie's house.

Maddie's POV:

"Your right Mom, I'm gonna go apologize to Elijah right now."

I walk out of my room to the front door and open it.

To my surprise, I see Elijah standing there looking like he was just about to knock on the door.

"Oh, Elijah, I was just about to go to your house and talk to you" I said.

"Yeah, I need to talk to you too Maddie" he says.

"I just wanted to say that-" we both said at the same time.

"You go first" we say in unison again.

"No you, no you, no you" we do it again until Elijah just says, "Ok, I'll go first! Maddie, I just wanted to say that I am so, so, so, so sorry."

"That's what I wanted to say too!!" I say starting to cry and I don't know why.

Next thing you know, we are standing there in front of my house with the front door wide open hugging each other and saying "I'm sorry" a million times.

We finally let go of each other and I ask, "Can we go surfing?"

"Sure, anything to make it up to you Maddie" Elijah says.

We both go back in our houses and change and grab our boards. Then we head out to the ocean.

We get on our stomachs and start paddling. Elijah stands up trying to catch a wave.

When I try to stand up I feel something pull on my leg and I get pulled into the ocean.

Then, it bites.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I scream, but I don't think that anyone can hear me because I'm underwater.

Elijah's POV:

I look back to smile at Maddie, but she isn't there.

"Maddie, Maddie, MADDIE!!!" I start to yell.

Then I see bubbles coming up from the water.

I know it's Maddie, so I decide to dive in after her.

I look around, and then I see Maddie, surrounded by red water.

I go and get her, then I pull it to shore.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Maddie screams.

I look at her and then I see her ankle covered in so much blood, that if I try touching it, her foot would probably fall off.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!" I scream, "Somebody, please, please help. Call 911, somebody call 911!!!!!"
