The End

Elijah's POV:

It's been a year, and Maddie is out of the wheelchair. But I'm still excited because:

MADDIE KISSED ME!!! MADDIE KISSED ME!!! MADDIE KISSED ME!!!

I can't believe it. She even said that she loved me!!!!! I'm gonna go ask her out again. Your probably thinking, "It's been a year since you guys kissed and you still haven't ask her out yet?!"

Well... I don't know. I've always wanted to though.

I walk over to her house. And when she opens the door I say, "Maddie, will you go out with me?"

Instead of responding, she hugs me and starts crying.

"Maddie, what's wrong?" I ask.

"Look, Elijah, I would love to go out with you, but I can't handle a long distance relationship." She says.

"What do you mean 'Long distance relationship'?"

"I'm... moving to Lake Tahoe."

I felt my heart break into a million pieces. My best friend is moving to Lake Tahoe?!?!

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!?!" I shout.

She starts bawling her eyes out now.

I think her parents hear because they come to the door and they say, "It's okay, it's okay, don't start crying. Look Elijah we talked to your parents about it, and good news we're all moving to Lake Tahoe!"

"Wait, my family is moving to Lake Tahoe too?!?!" I ask Maddie's Dad hopefully.

"Yes, go home, look, they're already packing!" Her dad says.

I run home, and to my surprise, they are packing!!!

"Are we really moving to Lake Tahoe?!?!?!" I ask my parents.

"Yep. It was a surprise for you, now do you and Maddie can still be best friends." My mom says.

I run back over to Maddie's house.

"We are moving!!!" I tell Maddie then pick her up and hug her.

"YAY!!!" Maddie says hugging me back, "but wait, I'm gonna miss surfing."

I put her down, "it's going to be winter, so we won't be able to surf anyway."

"You're right Elijah. I'm gonna miss our house though."

"Hey," I grab her face so that she's looking at me, "everything is gonna be alright."

The sun starts setting. So I grab Maddie's hand, and we walk and sit at our spot. Our spot is just the bench we sat at when we first became friends.

We watch the sunset in silence until Maddie says, "Yes."

"Yes what?"

"Since we're both moving to Lake Tahoe, and we don't have to do a long distance relationship, yes, I will go out with you." Maddie says grabbing my hand.

I don't know what to say, so, I just kiss her. Then she kisses back.

"Elijah Coleman, I love you."

"Maddie Braxton, I love you too."

I put my arm around her and we finish watching the sunset together.
