When I walk in the first thing I notice is awkward silence. The rest of the families are already here. A woman with black and Maroon hair turns around. I would recognize that face anywhere.
Johanna Mason.
"Oh" she says "Look what the cat drug in a. Burnt. Little. Mockingjay. Oh. And Look. She brought her lover boy." she says adding emphasis on every word.
"Good to see you too, Brainless." I shoot back.
"Mom! How could you call her that!" Says a very concerned Rye. Johanna and I start dying laughing.
"Catnip" I turn around to see Gale. I can't blame him anymore. The past is in the past.
"It's ok Gale." I embrace him. "I don't blame you anymore. I should have forgave you a long time ago" I whisper.
"Thank you" he says
"I miss hunting with you. It gets a little boring when you go by yourself for 20 years. Willow's pretty good at it but she never wants to come with me because she thinks it's 'unnecessary'"
"Well I think you could speak otherwise" he says "I mean you wouldn't be alive if you didn't know how to shoot" I give him a sad smile. He's right. I mean it kept me alive before, during, and after the games.
"So" he says changing the subject. "How are you handling this? This must be very hard for you"
"Yeah." I reply. "I've had several breakdowns. Our guide looks just like Rue"
"I know. She was her sister."
"Yeah" I say. "We need to catch up soon." he nods. I scan the room for the other district 'representatives'. I see a face I'd never think I see again. Finnick.
"F-f-finnick" I choke out. I turn my head "A-a-annie"
"Katniss" Annie exclaims.
"How does she know my name?" the boy whispers.
"She knew your father" says a sad Annie.
"Your Finnick's boy!" I say "You look so much like him"
"I get that a lot." He says. "I'm not sure why so many people knew him or what he looked like. But, oh well." Annie gives me a sad smile.
"Can I have everyone's attention"
