Chapter 25 : The Mission in Motion

*Ben's perspective.*

I tell Flavius to land a bit of a ways from the base since the crowd was clearly roused from my entrance.

Ben : "Hang tight here for now, I'll go try and calm them down."

Flavius : "I'll keep Flamedra company then, he is a little uneasy with the new scenery."

I nod lightly and pat the side of the wyverns head. Leaping off her back, I walk over to everyone. Everyone looked filled with joy, except for Mira and Alex. I saw what had happened through the scope, the shove, everything. 

Moa : "Aye boss how ya doin!?"

Terra : "Ben!!"

I didn't stop to answer them, my eyes were locked.

Thompson : "Man we are so glad to see you-"

Ben : "Excuse me please real fast Thompson."

I said in a polite tone. He quickly side stepped to allow me to pass.

Thompson : "We are so glad that you are alright!!!"

Ben : "I'm fine, is everyone else here okay?"

I asked, grabbing my sniper and holding it with both hands, subtly walking over towards Alex.

Alex : "Uuuh my head. Yeah, I think everyone is okay. I think I did a good job taking your spot while you were ou-"

*CRACK*

The stock bashed into his face, the force of the impact caused him to call back and onto the ground. A small blue spark flew off when the gun hit, but that was not important enough to stop. Everyone's shock collected into a silence as I felt all their eyes on me. He looked up at me with fiery eyes.

Terra : "What are you doing to him!!!"

Alex : "WHAT THE HE-"

I raise the gun up before bringing it down with all my might on to Alex's face.

Mira : "No!!"

Mira grabbed my arm, holding it back from bringing the stock down onto Alex's face. I struggled to break the grip, but she held on like a vice. 

Ben : "Let me go, I saw what happened!"

My anger was so powerful and fierce at that moment. It felt like I was looking at Jackle again, or better yet, Hunt, right in their awful yellow eyes.

Mira : "But you do not understand what happened."

She calmly retorted. I pause to think about what she said and what that could have meant. I relax, and let my arms go slack. She takes the rifle out of my hands and I turn to face her.

Mira : "Thompson, catch."

She underhanded the rifle to him. He caught it with ease. I turn back to look down at Alex. His face had a large bruise oh his right cheek from the gun, and his nose was bloody from the swipe. I wanted to grab the collar of his shirt and hoist him up to eye level, but I instead look to Mira.

Ben : "What do I not understand then... Because it better be a damn good story if you want to cover up the fact that I watched Alex assault you, and him trying to kill me and my new friends."

I point an open hand towards the 2 wyverns. Mira took a deep breath, which could mean 2 things. A long ass story, or a short but hard hitting story.
