It was around five-thirty the following morning when I woke up. For the first time since I'd been living here, I was awake before Naru. I smiled at his calm and peaceful face. I ever so softly stroked my fingertips along his hair. I crept out of the bed and grabbed Naru's black knit sweater off the chair and pulling it over my bare body. I walked into the dining room and sat down, firing up my laptop, typing unfalteringly. A couple of hours later, I found myself printing it. I closed the laptop and slipped into the kitchen, making a pot of tea. As the kettle finished boiling, two strong arms wrapped around and surrounded me. I leaned back against the man who held me in such a loving and protective embrace. Brushing his lips along my neck he whispered.
"You're up early." I nodded. 'I don't want to wake up without you beside me.' He wasn't even aware he was thinking it, but I heard it anyway. I think Eugene's powers in me are strengthening.
"I had a dream after you left last night," I responded. His body tensed.
"Are you alright?" I turned around so that I was looking into his eyes.
"Naru..." I began, my tone serious. "We're gonna go bring your brother back." For several moments, Naru was speechless. Then his hands took mine.
"Okay," He said simply.
"But," I said with enthusiasm. "There's somewhere we need to go first." Naru's eyebrows knitted together as he tried to read my mind to see where we're going. I just smiled at him.
"But why are we going there?"

It was a few hours later that Naru's car drove us through the gates of Christa University.
"You sure about this?" He asked as he opened the door for me, letting me out.
"I am." My determination was clear. He put his hand out for me to take and we began walking through the university. A few people who seemed to know Naru were gawking at us strangely. It felt strange having people staring at us. Meanwhile two boys, the ones I recognised had greeted Naru last time approached us.
"Kazuya! You have a girlfriend! You dawg, why didn't you tell us!?" They asked, seemingly very excited. At first I thought Naru would brush them off, but instead, his expression softened.
"My apologies. This is Mai Taniyama. My girlfriend." He introduced, making me blush. After they introduced themselves to me, we headed towards the lecture hall. He squeezed my hand before entering and like last time, we sat at the back. The professor came in not long after and instantly was aware of us at the back. As he started his lecture, I felt his mind reach out to mine to see all the memories and thoughts I hid inside. The corner of my mouth raised as I caught his power before it locked into my mind and directed a thought to him. 'I'd appreciate if you didn't do that without permission.' I pushed his essence back to his body. He paused from his lecture as he recovered from the shock. And quite quickly I might add. I glanced at Naru who was looking at me in complete awe, causing me to blush. Finally, the professor dismissed his class. Naru squeezed my hand, leading me down the steps to front the professor. Although he actually looked at me this time, he still only spoke to Naru.
"This had better not be becoming a habit Kazuya." Before Naru had the chance to reply, I took the initiative and spoke up.
"Good morning professor Davis. Actually, I was hoping to come and introduce myself properly." He just looked at Naru who shrugged in response. When he met my gaze again, he gruffly asked,
"What do you want?"
"Actually sir," I began confidently. "I was hoping to give you this." I pulled a pile of documents from my bag and handed them to the professor. "This is the report you requested on possible explanations for varying mental capacities." He looked surprised but quickly turned to his shell of a face.
"Why? You don't attend this school? Besides, what would you know about this?"
"Well I felt rude attending your class without completing the work. Further, little do you know, I attend sentient University to the North, where I study parapsychology. I am very familiar with the material you teach." From the corner of my eye, I saw Naru's thin eyebrows raise.
"What's truly rude is not listening. For if you were, you would know that this assignment was due two days ago." He snarled, seemingly grasping at straws. I smiled at him.
"Well you see, I would have had it in then, but your sons have been keeping me incredibly busy." That's it. I let the bomb drop. I knew everything. For the first time in history, Naru's jaw was completely slack from shock. After the initial shock on the professor's face had passed, his eyes lit up and he burst out into heavy laughter. Tears began pooling in his eyes from laughing so hard. Naru just stood there in silent shock. Once the professor stopped, he placed his hand on my shoulder and smiled.
"Ah miss, what's your name?"
"Mai Taniyama, sir"
"Well Mai Taniyama, it seems you have a very bright future ahead of you. Look after those boys for me. And should you ever need my assistance, just get Noll over here to call me. I'll help wherever I can," He told me before looking at Naru. "And Oliver, take care of this girl. You definitely won't find another like her." Naru smiled at me, taking my hand and pulling me towards him.
"I know," he replied quietly, looking into my eyes. We left the now smiling professor and headed back out to the car. Once again, he opened the car door for me in a gentlemanly gesture. Once we were settled in the car, he turned to look at me.
"You really are something else," he told me. "When did you even get time to write that report?" I chuckled in response, leaning over, with my hand on his jaw. I kissed him softly and murmured.
"I love you Naru."
"I love you too." He turned the ignition and put his hand on the handbrake, ready to go. Then he looked back at me.
"What?"
"You never answered my question." I looked at him confused. One of his Hands took mine, while with the other, he placed something in it. Moving his hand away, he revealed a black velvet box. Tears stung my eyes. I slowly opened the box. And sure enough, inside was an eloquent diamond ring. It wasn't just a dream.
"Will you marry me Mai?" Tears fell down my face as I looked up to him. I nodded almost violently, before I threw my arms around him.
"Yes! Naru, yes!"

No matter what dangers and fears we faced in the future, we knew one thing for certain. No matter what happened, we would always be together.
