"Baba, where are we going?" Mpendulo questions for the hundredth time.I've been asking too but I've been ignored completely, I even got tired myself of asking. So I kept shut and kept being busy with my social media.
"It's a surprise," he glances at me instead but I ignore him and continue with what I've been doing.
"What kind of surprise?"
"A surprise that has to be a surprise my boy," he plainly states.
"What's that?"
I giggle softly because I know Mpendulo won't stop asking, even when he gets the response, he'll make sure he has another question coming.
"You find that funny?" he furrows his brows at me.
"Yes, daddy," I deliberately tease, knowing exactly what that name does to him.
He just chuckles in return and his left fingertips suddenly settle on my exposed thigh, brushing smoothly.
I get burning goosebumps and I bite my lower lip while he draws circles. I pull my head straight and stare at him but he concentrates on the road instead. I catch a glimpse of his lips turning upward into a mockingly smirk.
He knows what he's doing and I'm not gonna give in.
"Can we have some snacks, mommy?" Lethu questions.
I turn my direction, appreciating the distraction. "Yes my love. Is he behaving?" I refer to Mpendulo who's eyes are connected to the phone his holding.
"He took my phone," she frowns.
"Have mine," I toss the phone to her direction and she mutters a thank you.
I return my focus on my other phone again and something catches my attention.
A picture of me and Nathi?
This was an outfit I wore two weeks ago.
"The Author of 'I've Survived' and 'In it to win it' looks to be pregnant again."
The headline reads.Seriously? The last time I read about myself was when both my novels sold over 500 hundred thousands and had nearly a million views on my blog.
I read and the remarks are just what so ever but what drains me is when I notice the mention of my uncle's name.
Everything goes silent and the only sound I hear is of my heavy breathing.
"Busisiwe seems to be a sex mechine. How many children will she bear for this boy? She's not even marreid yet. I'm highly disappointed." Mandla Gwala comments on his Niece's pregnency. The article reads and I become drastically dread.
Wasn't he hospitalized weeks ago?
When will this end anyway? I'm honestly over him, I've even stopped bab Steve from stealing from his useless business but he still doesn't stop. What more does he want from me.
"What's wrong, Sthandwa?" Nathi questions with a worriedly grim.
I sigh, I'm not even in the mood for this.
"This."
He takes the phone from my hold and he reads."Oh." that's all he mutters after a few seconds.
I expected him to be vulgar about this but somehow he seems unbothered. It's like he knew about this article.
"Is that all you going to utter?" I arche my brow.
