Kabanata 39

After the meeting, Vannie approached Francis at the parking lot. 

"Francis, wait!" Tawag ni Vannie kay Francis while walking towards him. 

"What? Vannie,  from what I know, our meeting was over few minutes ago. I shouldn't talk to you without your boss. Am I right? 

"What's with the formality, Francis? From what I know, we are still in a relationship, right? We never broke up?! What's the show with Mr. Fernandez? You are acting like you really don't know me at all in front of my boss." sabi ni Vannie kay Francis. 

Nilingon ni Francis si Vannie. "That's what decent people do, Vannie. People don't mix professional and personal matters. I know you on a personal level but it is my first time seeing you today as a business associate. So, what's your issue? 

"Cut that crap, Francis. I don't believe you.  That's not it!, sabi ni Vannie. 

"Do you want me to tell him na, Oh yes, Mr. Fernandez, meet my ex-girlfriend who happens to be one of your associates. Ganun ba ang gusto mo? We are doing business, Vannie. For sake of business relationship, I cannot mess with that just because you were my ex." Sagot ni Francis. 

"Okay, I get that. Sorry, maybe I just got overwhelmed with the situation. I know that I am seeing you in this meeting but I did not bother telling you. Gusto kita kase i-surprise e." Before I participated in this project, alam ko na makakatrabaho kita ulit and yet I did not tell you so you would be surprise. Alam ko naman na matututwa ka pag nakita mo ako e. " Confident na sabi ni Kate kay Francis. 

"What made you think na matutuwa ako pag nagkita tayo? Vannie, if you are thinking na maibabalik pa natin ang nakaraan because we will be spending more time together in this project, you are wrong. Let me remind you that I have my own family now. Don't ruin the good picture that we have now! Please lang" Sagot ni Francis kay Vannie. 

"Bakit, Francis? Wala naman ako sisirain dahil nauna niyo na ako sirain. Remember, you got married without even telling me?! Sinong ba ang nanira? Diba kayo? Kayo ni Kate?! I know everything about  you Francis and your stupid wife. Tito Gil told me everything about your set up and he is expecting for us to be together again na magkakabutihan tayo ulit" I know Francis, ako pa rin. She was just my substitute. " saad ni Vannie. 

"You're insane, Vannie." What we had before will remain in the past. Wala na tayo. I am trying to build my family now. Don't get in our way. Do it, while I am still asking you nicely. Wag mong sirain. Baka hindi ko alam ang magawa ko sa iyo pag naapektuhan ang mag-ina ko ng mga antics mo. Try me, Vannie. You'll see kung ano ang kaya ko gawin pag ginambala  mo ang mag-ina ko." Matapang na saad ni Francis.

Pumasok na si Francis sa loob ng kanyang sasakyan at pinaadar na ito palayo.

Nahampas ni Francis ang manibela ng sasakyan sa sobrang pagkawalan ng pasensya kay Vannie. 

Paaano magugulo ang tahimik na pamumuhay nina Francis at Kate sa pagbabalik ni Vannie?
