I can't help thinking to myself that maybe there's something more to the mission than just murdering a rich man? There are plenty of gangs not run by him that could easily hold the same threat.
Is it because he could use the information to contact the gang leaders and put them in a difficult position? Then he could kill them off one by one.
No, there must be something more.
"What are you thinking so deeply about?" Jin's voice tears me out of my thoughts. We're now back in a training room.
"Nothing." I sigh, running my fingers through my dark hair.
"Gaurd down, Ari," Namjoon orders. I'm getting tired of this place.
I hardly know anyone, I hardly know anything. I have questions and I want them answered.
"How did Mr. G come to be in power?" Namjoon looks at me with surprise at the question. My gaze just lingers around the sparse room and how you can only just make out the leather sofas through the lack of lighting.
"He is the founder of Phuture. That's how." Yoongi replies. "Why do you want to know?"
The conversation isn't helped by Jungkook and Taehyung's constant roars as they beat the shit out of two punching bags. I look over to Hoseok in the corner who's doing press-ups with Jimin and shrug in reply to the question. "There must be something underneath this organisation, right? I feel like you guys might know something but are choosing not to tell me."
"If we knew anything, we would tell you. If you have questions, we'll answer them." Namjoon states, though his face looks hesitant.
I look at him.
I can see through his bullshit.
He seems pessimistic, a hint of nervousness, he's lying about telling me anything. But he wasn't lying about answering the questions.
"How did you end up working for Phuture?"
"We were selected, however Jungkook grew up in the facility and Tae and Jimin were born into a training program for your race." Namjoon explains. "You haven't seen many others like them because they're the best and only the best make it through."
"What happens to the ones who don't?"
"They get set free or are used in other less important units."
Lie.
"They're killed, aren't they?"
Namjoon's eyes grow wide in concern, "H-how did you know that?"
"It's obvious." I say, rolling my eyes, "I can tell when you're lying. I can see what all of you are truly like."
Taehyung stops punching and turns to look at me talking, the others do the same.
"When I'm vulnerable, so are you. When my guard's down, so is yours. I can see right through you." I explain. "You might think you can trick me but you can't."
"What you told me about absorbing what you see?" Namjoon runs his fingers through his hair, "Is it true? If we just show you a fight scene you can memorise it and know the moves and when to use them?"
I nod, "I answered your question, now answer mine. Is there something you aren't telling me?"
"Of course there is, it's confidential, we can never tell you."
"But you'll find out soon enough." says Jimin.
Mr. G is planning something. I don't know what it is, but I have a bad feeling about it.
