Suna Rintaro - More About You

You were the quiet, simple one. Your best friend, Midori, was the extroverted one, the one who attracted people to her.

You weren't jealous of her. You were happy with the few friends you had and the tranquil life you led, and didn't feel the need to have such an active social life like hers.

The only thing you did envy, however, was the fact that she attracted his attention.

And how you wished you were the one he gazed upon whenever you noticed Suna was looking into Midori's direction.

"Let's go to Karaoke, (Y/N)!" Midori suggests as she jumps onto you. You almost fall.

"Midori, we have exams this week. We have to study. You barely passed the previous ones!" You remember, since she tended to forget things which she was not good at.

"Who cares about those things? Youth is to be lived and-"

"Yes, yes, I know your speech." You smile as you flick her forehead. "We can study together, if you want."

Her eyes twinkle and she clasps her hands. "Really? You're amazing, (Y/N). I would be so grate-"

Her eyes move to something behind you and she grins, a knowing expression on her face.

You turn and when you eyes land on Suna coming to both of you, you blush and quickly turn back.

"Well, I'll be going then!" Midori says, walking away through the gate.

You panic. "W-Wait! Where are you going?"

Midori pats you shoulder. "I just remembered I have some stuff to do. Don't worry, I'll study a lot!"

"B-But-"

"Bye!"

And just like that, she disappeared, leaving you alone and anxious. You compose yourself and were about to leave as well when a figure appears beside you.

"Hello." Suna greets.

You take a sharp breath, not expecting him to talk with you since Midori was gone. You look up. "H-Hi."

"Are you leaving?" He asks and you nod, unable to say anything.

"Can I accompany you?"

For a moment you forget your shyness. "M-Me?!"

He blinks and you blush from your outburst. "Yes, you."

Seconds pass. "Okay." You agree quietly as you look down, not noticing the small smile on his lips.

You both start walking and you really wanted to talk with him. You two had already spoken a few times and you knew a few things about him. And Midori had a crush on Osamu so she was always dragging you to watch the team's practice.

"How is the team?" You ask and Suna looks at you. You quickly look away. "I mean, for the Nationals? Is next week that the tournament stars, right?"

"Yes. I think we're good and will do good, unless the twins decide to do something out of the blue during a match." Suna looks like something who was having some annoying flashbacks.

You smile slightly. "They always look so energetic, especially Atsumu-san."

"I know, it's so tiring."

You can't help giggling and feeling happy that you were actually having a conversation with him.

"I actually meant to talk with you about something." Suna says, looking ahead. You turn to him, suddenly feeling sad.

I knew it... He's probably going to ask me for help with Midori. I guess that's to be expected.

"About what?" You ask, trying not to show you were sad.

He stays silent for a moment, as if gaining courage. "Do you want to study together sometime?"

Your eyes widen and you stop in your tracks, shocked. Suna stops as well and gazed down to your eyes.

You try to maintain the eye contact which was a difficult task since his eyes seemed to look into your soul. "You want to study with me?"

"That's what I asked."

"But..." You were very confused. "But about Midori?"

"What about her?" Now Suna looked confused as well.

"Wouldn't you prefer to study with her?"

"Why I would I prefer that?"

Your voice trembles a the next words. "B-Because you like her, right?"

He blinks again. How adorable. "Where did you get that idea from?"

You fidget. "W-Well, you're always looking in her direction so I assumed..."

Suna stays quiet for a moment before laughing. Not too hard, not too soft, the one in between.

"You thought I liked her? No, (L/N), I don't. I wasn't looking in her direction."

Nothing was making sense to you. "Then who were you looking at?"

"At you."

Your face turns as red as a tomato and you babble some words. Finally, you're able to gather your thoughts and ask a question properly.

"Me?" You wanted to hit yourself as soon as the word left your lips.

He smiles and you feel yourself melting inside. "Yeah. I have noticed you for a while and always wanted to know more about you."

"T-There really isn't that much interesting stuff about me." You say, waving your hands. "I'm not that amusing."

"Everyone is amusing in their own way." He says softly, taking a few steps toward you. You wanted to run as he closed the distance but you remained still, for some reason.

"But I-"

He leans in so his eyes are at the same level as yours. "I want to know you, (Y/N). You were the one who caught my attention, not Midori-san. Will you let me?"

You didn't even need to think twice and answered, smiling.

"Yes. I want to know more about you as well, Suna."
