"I forgot my jacket." Suguru realizes when stepping out of the school gate.
"What, again?" Akama asks.
"You always leave it on the bench, it's amazing you haven't lost it yet." Kuguri comments with a smirk.
"And do you know why?" Suguru asks, turning around with a matching smirk. "Because I always remember about it in the end! You guys go on without me, don't worry!"
Suguru starts running towards the gym. He opens the door and looks at the benches, but the jacket was not there.
Strange. It's usually there.
He entered the gym, looking around, and decided to go to the lockers. He was surprised the lights were still on. Who could be here?
"So, yeah, that's it!" A familiar voice says near him, inside the lockers room. He peeks, and he blinks in surprise when he sees you, facing a chair, his jacket on your hands.
"No, (Y/N), you can't it like that! It's stupid!" You scold yourself. You close your eyes, taking a deep breath, before opening them.
"Hello, Suguru-senpai!" You say with a smile. Suguru almost chokes, since hearing you say his name when you hadn't notice him as the least he was expecting. But he was curious - what were you doing?
"You left your jacket yesterday on the gym and I found it... But you had already left so I couldn't give it to you. So I... I brought it today for you!"
You stop, before giving a small slap on your cheek. "Of course it's for him, it's his jacket, (Y/N)!" Your shoulders fall forward, your face saddening. "Forget it, I'll never be able to actually hold a proper conversation with him, let alone handing him this." You grip the piece of clothing on your hands. "Maybe it's better to just put it back where it was."
Now, Suguru was shocked upon seeing you talking to yourself like this. You were a second-year, and learning how to a be a manager, since you had joined this year. You were a bit shy with everyone, but they all found it cute and didn't mind; but when it come to Suguru, you almost couldn't say two sentences next to each other.
All this time he thought it was because you were uncomfortable around him. But now, he realized he was because of something else entirely - you liked him.
"But his jacket is a bit dirty..." You murmur, eyeing it. "Maybe it's better if I clean it off. Maybe..." You blush slightly, your expression so cute it made Suguru's heart squeeze. "Maybe he'll notice me more."

"Hey, Daisho, there's someone here for you!" A student calls and Suguru leans in his chair, looking at the door.
Even though you were hidden by it, he could make out your shape and quick grin make its way to his lips.
"Hello, (L/N)." He greets when stepping out of the classroom.
"H-Hi." You try to steady your voice, taking a quick breath. You extend your arms, a bag on your hands. "I came to bring you this."
Suguru fakes surprise and takes the bag, taking the clothe inside. "Oh, so you were the one with my jacket? I thought I had lost it!"
You make a discreet smile, so small that if someone wasn't paying attention it would have missed it. But Suguru was paying attention.
"You left it on the gym... And I found it and kept if for you." You say quietly.
"And you washed it too!" He says, impressed. You blush slightly.
"Well, I didn't mind. It was the least I could do so..."
"No." He shakes his head, leaning in so that you looked at him; you had been looking down the whole time. He grins. "Not everyone would have done what you have. Thanks!"
Your heart jumps and your cheeks heat up, not used to get so much attention from him. It was new and scary... but for some reason, you didn't dislike it.
"Y-Your welcome." You stutter, about to turn away. "W-Well, I'll be going then."
A smooth hand grabs your arm, stopping you. You turn around, surprised, to see Suguru looking at you with a strange gaze.
"We never really talked to each other, have we?"
You blink, confused by the question. "We talk on practice."
"Well, yeah, but apart from that, we never really had a conversation." He continues, steeping closer to you. "I wonder why."
Your heart began to beat fast, your mind screaming for you to leave, that this was unknown territory. However, your feet didn't move, your heart telling you to stay.
"You are busy." You murmur. "And I-"
"Want to go somewhere after club?" He asks, interrupting you.
"E-Eh?" You look up, shocked, only to see him grinning. You gulp, nervous. And yet, again, you didn't dislike the feeling.
"Me." He points at himself and then at you. "And you. Somewhere after club."
Your brain was having a thousand thoughts and questions but the one that had to come out was this one, of all question. "And do what?"
You wanted to beat yourself.
Suguru laughs, the sound serene in your ears. "Well, whatever we want. We can eat something or talk or simply study." He leans in, his face very close to yours. And you feel the eyes of everyone on the hall on you two, making your neck red. "What matters for me is to get to spend time with you, I don't mind how."
"I-I... I don't-" You were at a loss of words, the day not going as you expected when you woke up. You had only planned to hand him the jacket, and that alone had made you gather all your courage.
So how did you end up with a date with Suguru?
"Hmm? Could it be you're not interested?" He asks, pouting.
"N-No, that's not it!" You quickly say, waving your hands. Then, you lower them to your sides, and you try to voice your thoughts, not letting your fear take control.
"I..." You look up to meet his eyes. There was a spark in yours that made Suguru arch his eyebrows in surprise. "I want to go."
Suguru smiles, taking hold of your hand. Before you could ask what he was doing, he takes it to his lips, kissing the back of it.
You babble some words, not mentally prepared for that.
Suguru tilts his head, still holding your hand. "I'm glad."
