"Come, Akaashi, the water is so good!" You exclaim as you wave at him to join you.

"The water is so cold, I don't even know how you can be there." He replies from the sand as he places his hands on his hips. "You're like those children that always say the water is great even though it's freezing cold."

You giggle. "Well, you're just being picky!"

Akaashi sighs and makes a small smile that you didn't see. "I'm going to the towel." He informs.

"Aye, aye!" You say as you dive into the water.

As he settled on his beach towel, you float on the water, looking at the bright sky above you. You two were in an isolated area of the beach so you two were the only people there.

You liked Akaashi a lot. You had had a crush on him since your first year and in your second year you two had grown closer since you had become the volleyball team manager; and a few weeks ago, he had asked you on a date.

It had been a magic moment for you, as all you dreams had become truth.

But as you were now looking at a bird that was flying, you couldn't help but wonder: were you two actually dating?

You two had gone on dates, yes. You two had fun times and made good memories. But you didn't recall a time when he had asked you to officially date him. And you were too embarrassed to ask.

Deciding to take that off your mind, you dive, holding your breath. Being underwater, feeling the cold water against your body, always calmed you. And you were pretty good at holding your breath - you could say like that up to two minutes.

However, Akaashi didn't know that.

He saw you dive and looked at his book again. 10 seconds later, he glances at the sea but you hadn't come out. More seconds go on and no sign of you. He gets up and goes to the water.

Now, Akasshi was a responsible, reliable guy. And he worried about the people important to him, of course.

So when you didn't show after 40 seconds, his mind went to the worst case scenario. Immediately, he dives into the sea and, even though salty water irritated his eyes, he still held them open to search for you.

He saw you with your eyes closed, your arms hugging your legs. He quickly swims to reach you and grabs you by the arm, swimming up.

Since you weren't expecting being disturbed, your eyes opened quickly and you breath, swallowing water.

When your head was above water, you cough the water, grabbing on Akaashi for support.

"Why did y-you sudd-denly grabbed me?" You ask between coughs. "That was dangerous!"

"Dangerous?" He repeats, looking angry. You had never seen him angry. "You were drowning!"

"Drowning? I was just holding my breath!"

"Since when are you able to hold for so long?!" He asks harshly.

"Since I was a child!" You yell. "Why are you being so harsh with me? I didn't do anything wrong!"

Akaashi stares at you, his eyes fierce. You held his stare, waiting for a reasonable answer.

Slowly, his expression softens and he sighs, wrapping his arms around you. You blush.

"E-Eh? What's wrong, Akaashi?"

"I was worried." He whispers. "I thought you had drown."

You expression becomes gentler as well as you hug him back. "I should have told you I liked to hold my breath underwater. I didn't mean to worry you."

"I know." He murmurs on your ear, causing it to get hot. "I'm just... relieved you're safe."

The way he talked, the way he acted... it all made gather the courage to ask what it had been on your mind for days.

"Akaashi..." You whisper, pulling away. You look into his beautiful eyes. "What are we?"

He frowns. "What do you mean?"

"I mean," You start, making gestures with your hands. "Are we friends? Or more than that?"

Akaashi stares at you for a while, making you blush under the intensity of his eyes. But you don't regret asking.

"You don't know?"

You wanted to hit him for the question. "I wouldn't be asking if I knew!" You yell.

"What do you want us to be?" He asks, suddenly serious.

It was hard to maintain eye contact with the eyes that looked as if they were staring into your soul. "Well, I-I wouldn't be asking anything if I didn't want us to be m-more than friends." You say, looking down from embarrassment.

You feel warm fingers under your chin, raising it. You look up and your heart accelerates at the expression full of care that was Akaashi's face.

"I'm sorry." He says, caressing your cheek with his other hand. You try to ignore the fact that he was very close to you, bare-chested. You failed.

"W-Why?" You ask, not being able to think straight.

"I should've made things clearer between us. I'm going to that now."

You blink as your hands close from anticipation. He leans in and kisses you softly on the forehead, making you blush hard and getting hot, even though the water was very cold.

"I like you." He says as he stares at your eyes again. You could swear he was blushing a bit too. "I want us to date."

A bright smile made its way to your lips and your eyes shine from happiness. You forget your shyness as you throw your arms around his neck, almost making him fall.

"Of course! I like you so much, Akaashi!" You say, happy to finally say your feelings to the boy.

You feel him tightening his grip on you. "Not as much as I do toward you." He whispers in your ear.
