"Dai-chan?" You ask, completely taken aback by the man standing in front of you.

"(Y/N)-chan?" He asks back, equally surprised.

"It's been so long!" You say, a smile growing on your lips.

You invite him to enter and you hug him, him hugging you back. It had been years since the last time you saw him and, upon his touch, you realize how much you had missed him.

"What are you doing here?" You ask gently, leading him into the living room. "Can I offer you anything?"

"There's no need, thank you." Daichi smiles.

He was much taller and looked much more like a man than you last saw him. Of course, (Y/N), you haven't seen him in years. But he still looks handsome.

"I'm actually here because I saw in the paper one of the rooms was for rent." Daichi explains as he sits on the sofa.

"You were the one who texted me so see the apartment?" You ask, surprised, as you sit on the sofa in front of him. A cup of tea warmed your cold hands.

He lips turn to a smile. "I didn't know I was talking with you, but yes, it was me. What a coincidence."

You giggle. "Right? I almost didn't recognized you, the last time we saw each other was in middle school."

He smiles again but stays silent and you wondered if he was reminiscing about the things you two had together.

You two had played, cooked, gone to school, studied, done all kinds of things together since you had been neighbors. You blush slightly when you remember that he was the first boy you had held hands with and that he had been your first crush.

But then you had to move, and you two lost contact. You had never expected to see him again but you were glad you were wrong.

"So?" You ask, encouraging him. "Don't be shy, tell me all the things you did!"

And so he told, and you told yours as well. A nostalgic feeling spread through your body, as you realize that even though his appearance had changed, what was important had not.

He was still the same kind, mature and honest guy you had known.

After you two finished talking, you showed him the apartment and he liked it very much. He said he would keep the room and you smiled brightly, happy to get in touch with him again.

But you didn't know that the apartment was not the only reason that led Daichi to take the room.

Weeks had come and had gone and your relationship was growing steadily.

This is so cliché. I can't believe I fell for my long lost childhood friend.

Those were your thoughts as you were in the kitchen, cooking the dinner. You and Daichi had a system of chores and tonight was your turn to cook.

But I mean, who wouldn't? He's everything you can ask for.

You cut the vegetables, your mind racing with thoughts. But maybe it's best if I keep these feelings to myself. I'm certain he doesn't feel the same. And then we would be apart again, and I don't want that.

You stop your task as you open the cupboard to take a bowl. However, they were too high and you had to go into your tip toes.

"Damn it, Daichi..." You growl. Ever since he came, he would always place the things he used on the higher shelves, since he always forgot you were too short to reach them. You had warned him several times but he always ended up forgetting.
