I spent the afternoon showing Elena and Tommy around Chicago. Elena was pumped full of energy as always. She made me exhausted just watching her. How we became friends is beyond me. "I love it here!" She cheered. "Oh Tommy let's move here." Tommy smiled as he watched her dance around The Bean. "How do you put up with her?" I asked. "I love her." He grinned then walked to where she was and grabbed her hand. They danced like they was the only two in the world. I wanted a love like Elena and Tommy. I could have had one but I let immature decisions cloud my judgement. Of course Jim, Jack, and Vodka has a major role. After hooking up and bar hopping with several guys for a month or two I finally met Michael Novack. I should mentioned he is Henry's biological father. He was a handsome guy, charming and sweet. I really liked him. I even quit going to bars and sleeping with other guys for that no count scoundrel. I shook at the thought of him.

Henry let out a squeal. He kicked his feet and clapped his hands. Alaska perked her ears up and pranced. I rubbed my hand on her head. "Hey girl." "At least someone appreciates talent when they see it." Elena grinned as she grabbed Henry out of my arms. "You danced in a circle. Monkeys can dance in circles." I rolled my eyes. "You know what you need Marine? You need a night out on the town. Tommy and I can babysit while you go do whatever you do." Tommy come over beside me and nudged me, "She's right Jordan. You need to get out and do something." I looked at them both. I guess they was right. It would kill me to go out and enjoy myself. If it did kill me I wouldn't have to do it again.

After some convincing from Elena and Tommy I agreed to go out while they watched my child. I gave them my dads number and the number to the district. I shot Erin a messaged about going out. She told me to meet her at a place called Molly's. She told me all the the guys and girls from Firehouse 51, Chicago Med, and the 21st hang out there. I was nervous about hanging out. The last time I went to a bar I ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor half dressed. I also lost my license and had to get a new one. After that night I watched how much I drank. Since Henry was born I haven't been to any bars and my drinking I've kept to a minimal. I told myself I would drink only two drinks.
I got in the shower and turned the hot water on. I stepped in. I leaned back on the wall and let the water slide down my body. "Two drinks that's it Marine." I mumbled to myself. I kept repeating those six words. I got out the shower, dried my body and hair, next I put on a nice button up shirt. I found my nicest blue jeans and put them on. I added a little makeup to my face. I rarely put on makeup. Elena taught me how to put it on. And yes you guessed it she was so excited to teach someone how to apply make up. It wasn't my thing but it made her happy. I brushed my teeth, put on some nice perfume then I headed out. "Oh Marine..." Elena's voice echoed from the kitchen. "What?" I groaned. I was heading out the door to do a fun thing. "Do you plan on going barefoot? I would think you would need shoes." She smirked. I looked down at my feet. "Seriously." I muttered. I went back to my room and found me some nice then finally headed to Molly's

I arrived at Molly's about 7:00 like Erin said. I walked in and saw how amazing it was. No wonder people came here. "Jordan! Over here!" Erin waved. I walked over to where she was. Everyone I saw from the district was there except dad, Uncle Al, and Platt. Dad rarely went out unless he's changed since I been away. "This place is nice." I said looking around. "Yea, our friend Herrmann owns the place." Erin informed me. "Hey! I own part ownership too." A voice from behind me said. I turned around to see who it was. "Oh excuse me then." Erin laughed. "Jordan meet Otis. He's a firefighter over at Firehouse 51." We shook hands. "Nice to meet you Jordan. I didn't know Erin had a sister." He said. "Surprise!" I smiled. Erin took me around and introduced me to every one of her friends. I gotta admit getting out of the house for a night wasn't such a bad idea. Of course I messaged Elena every hour to check of my son. This was the first time since he has been born that I been away from him.

The night went on and I drank a little more than I planned. I told myself only two and I got carried away. I didn't want to drink as much because I remember my down hill spiral of the drinking, partying, and hooking up. I didn't want that again. I wasn't perfect but my life was finally getting on a good path. Despite me going to therapy and having my nightmares from time to time life felt like it was going the way it should be. I had good friends, a handsome son, my dad, my sister was finally back in my life. Life was looking up.

I finally called it quits. I told everyone I had to leave. Being a mom doesn't stop. It's a never ending cycle. "Let me know when you make it home." Erin told me as we hugged. "You know I will." I said then walked out the door. I walked to my car when I saw a figure standing beside it. I couldn't tell who it was but they was about to find out it was the wrong car to stand against. I got closer. "Hey! You need to get off my car!" I yelled. They turned around. My eyes grew big as I realized who was leaned against my car. "Well hello Jordanna." His voice sent chills down my body.
"Michael."
