Friday came. I still didn't know who had messaged me. I hadn't seen Michael again but, I knew once he saw me he be back around. Today Elena and Tommy was leaving to go back home. So much was going through my mind. I couldn't think straight. I tossed and turned all night. It was a good thing Henry stayed with Dad. It was five o'clock in the morning. I got out of bed and walked out on the porch. I wanted so bad for all of this to be a dream.
After a while I went back inside. I got back in bed and went to sleep.
Blood dripped from my lip. "You are a disgrace." He sneered.
I jumped out of my sleep. I looked around. Alaska by my side always licked my hand and face. "I'm okay girl." I said rubbing her head. I rolled out of bed. I got in the tub and stayed for what seemed hours. I leaned my head back against the tub and drifted asleep.
"Hey! Jordan. Are you awake? I hear the water running." Elena said as she walked in my room. Alaska was scratching at the bathroom door and whining. "Jordan?!" She called out. She opened the bathroom door. "Jordan! Tommy call 911!" She yelled. Alaska darted in and paced by the tub. Elena pulled me out of the water. Tommy rushed in. "What's wrong?" Tommy helped Elena pick me up out of the tub. They laid me on the floor. Tommy put a blanket over me. "What happened!?" He asked. "I don't know! I walked in and saw her under the water!" She cried. Alaska licked my face.A few minutes later paramedics arrived. Alaska stood over my body and growled. "Whoa!" one of the paramedics said. "Easy girl." The other one said. "Her name is Alaska. She's Jordan's dog." Elena said. "What's your name?" One of them asked. "I'm Elena and this is my boyfriend Tommy." Elena replied. "Elena I'm Slyvie and this is my partner Gabby." Slyvie spoke soft. "Elena can you get Alaska so we can get to Jordan?" Gabby asked. Elena easily walked towards Alaska. "Hey girl. Easy there. They won't hurt her. Come here." Elena softly spoke. Alaska laid down and whined. Elena grabbed her collar and pulled her gently away. Gabby and Slyvie immediately started working on me. "Tommy called her dad." Elena said as she watched. Tommy grabbed my phone and called my dad. "Hey Sergeant Voight..." he voice trailed off at he walked out. Gabby and Slyvie looked at each other. "Did he say Voight?" Gabby asked Elena. "Yes that's her dad. Hank Voight. Do you know him." Elena asked. "You can say that." Slyvie said. "Tell him to meet us a Chicago Med." Gabby said.
I woke up in a hospital room. "What..happened?" I croaked. "Hey kiddo." My dads voice whispered. "What happened." He rubbed his hand through my hair. "Your friend found you in the tub" he said. "Jordan..did you..did you try to kill yourself?" He questioned. "No! Dad I wouldn't do that. I fell asleep." I responded. He kissed my forehead. "Don't ever do that again. You scared me."
A knock came at the door. "Voight. Hey Jordan. I'm Dr. Choi. Everything looks good. You will be discharged here shortly. It's a good thing someone was there with you." He said. "Thanks, Dr. Choi." My dad said and shook his hand. He walked out of the room. I moved over and patted on the bed. "Come sit." My dad got on the bed. He wrapped his arm around me. "Where is my child?" I asked him. "Henry is with Erin at her house." He said. "Oh okay. I wonder how that is going." I laughed.I was discharged from the hospital. I told my dad that he could take me home. I asked him if he would watch Henry for another night. He agreed. He dropped me off. "Thanks dad." I said. He drove off. I walked inside and Elena bear hugged me. "Easy." I said. "Oh sorry." She said and let go. She punched me in the arm. "Ouch! What was that for?" I asked. "For scaring me half to death." She said. "I'm sorry. I was tired. I didn't sleep all night and I must to have fallen asleep." I explained.
Elena ordered pizza. I called to check on Henry and thanked Erin for watching him. I explained to her what happened. I got a mini lecture from here but I didn't care. I know she means well. After we all ate, Elena told how she and Tommy extended their stay for a couple of more days. I'm was glad. I wish they would move here but I'm not sure that would happen. It was time for me to go meet up with this mystery person. I told Elena I was meeting up with an old classmate. I got to Navy Pier. I messaged the number saying I was there and what I wearing. A few minutes later a familiar person was walking towards me. "This is a surprise." I said. He smiled, "I wanted it to be." We sat on a bench facing the water. "How did you get my number?" I asked. He laughed. "It's not hard. You forget who I work with?" He had a point. I am surprised as to why he wanted to meet up. "So I gotta ask why? Why me?" He was silent for a moment. "Why not? You're beautiful. I'd really like to get to know you more. I'm shootings my shot. Plus if you block my shot, nobody has to know."
We sat and talked for hours. I really enjoyed his company. I'm sure if my father found out he would flip out. He doesn't have to know, at not yet.
"Ms. Jordan it was very nice to see you. I hope we can do this another time." He said sticking out his hand. I shook it. "We will." I smiled. "You have a goodnight now." He said then left. I sat for a little while longer and took in what just happened.
