Days continued to pass by as Kevin and I grew fonder of each other. We went out every chance we could. Keeping this secret was hard, especially keeping it from my best friend. I told her every detail of my life. She was my person, butI felt deep down I wasn't ready to let this secret come to life. Being with Atwater felt as if I was living in a fairytale. I had feelings for him that I never felt before. These feelings grew and grew each time we was together. If I was being honest with myself, I didn't want to tell because in reality people get hurt. If I was to admit this out loud, I was afraid my fairytale would come to an end.
Kevin asked if we could go to the zoo for a date, but he only had one request and that was for me to bring Henry. Although, Kevin has been around Henry before, it hasn't been just Kevin, Henry, and I. We was always with others. My trust in Kevin was strong. I knew deep down he would never hurt me nor Henry. Kevin would never put us in danger. With much consideration and tons of thinking I decided it was time for us to go somewhere together.
I met Kevin at the front gate of the zoo. "Hey beautiful." He waved. We gave each other a quick kiss. He grabbed Henry out of my arms. I don't ever recall Kevin holding him since we've met, however, this was a sight to see. "Do you know how to hold a baby." I asked. Kevin quickly turned back around. "I got this." I rolled my eyes and followed him through the gates. We strolled through the zoo looking at each exhibit. I admired the way Henry took to Kevin. I personally think it's his smile that charms people. His smile sure did charm me.
"Jordan, I'm been thinking and I think it's time we tell Voight." Kevin blurted out. I spit out some of my drink. "What?" Kevin put a sleeping Henry down in his stroller and fastened his seat belt. "I think it's time we tell Voight"
"But why?"
"Jordan..I love you. I don't know what to hide it anymore."
I was shocked by the words that came out of his mouth. Love me? He loves me? Kevin Atwater loves me? No guy has said that to me before. I haven't even said that to a guy. Do I say it back? If you love a person, you'd say it back. Truth is...I love him too. I can't deny my feelings for him, but if I say this out loud it becomes real. Will my fairytale end?
"I love you too, Kevin." I said.We left the zoo and headed to grab something to eat. I had been craving pizza for days so we decided to go to Giordano's. The scent of pizza filled the room. "I haven't had one of these is a while." I said as Kevin ordered the food. "It's the best pizza around."
While we waited on our food I fed Henry. For Henry to be such a little guy he could eat. "Can I feed him?" Kevin asked. "Sure." I replied. I handed over Henry to Kevin. "When he's done eating and he will let you know, just put him over your should and pat his back so he burps."
I watched Kevin with Henry. There was times when Kevin acted nervous with him and other times he had the confidence as to what he was doing. Our food finally came. Henry fell back asleep. We ate and talked about everything we could possibly think of. "You know Kevin, I think you are right. We will tell my dad but later." I said.
"We can tell him together."
"Yes. Hey are you going to Molly's tonight. I hear Hermann is closing it just for 51 and you guys." I asked. "Yea I'll be there."I arrived home to Elena bombarding me with questions. "Jordan you have to tell me something. I know it's not an old friend you are seeing." I looked at her, "Elena what makes you think I'm seeing someone."
"You leave your house a lot, even with Michael roaming around." She pointed out. This is true. I had been leaving a lot and I surely haven't thought twice about Michael or the fact that I could come in contact with him at any moment. "Elena if I tell you..you have to pinky promise you won't tell a soul." Elena pinky promised that she wouldn't tell, although you her Tommy doesn't count. I told her about me and a Kevin. I gave her the details I wanted her to know. "Jordan! He's cute!" She squealed. "I know! Elena my dad doesn't know."
"Jordan he's going to freak out."
"I know!"
I just hoped he wont be hard on Kevin once he finds out.It was time to go to Molly's. I had fed, bathed, and put Henry down. I told Elena I would be back later. I would text her to check on them.
As I got to Molly's I saw everyone there except dad. Every time I've been to Molly's dad was never there. It's more of a I'll drink at home type of person. Every once in a while he might show his face at a bar. I sat next to Kevin who sat next to Kim. I ordered my drink. We all chatted for a bit the Kim left to chat with Adam. "We could just tell now while everyone is here." Kevin whispered quietly. "And my dad find out last. No thanks." I said. "Fine, lets go find him and tell him then we can come back and celebrate." Kevin smiled. "Kevin we will tell him." I said. I got up and found Gabby and Brett. About that time my dad walked in the bar. He came up to me, "we need to talk outside." I looked confused but followed him out.
"You got something you need to tell me." He asked. "Um not at the moment. Is everything okay?
"I was leaving the district when Trudy handed me this envelope and said it was for it. Some kid delivered it." He said handed me the envelope. I opened it up and took out its contents. It was a stack of pictures of me and Kevin.
