Instantly I knew the person that had taken these photographs. It came as no surprise. "Michael." I mumbled.
"In this moment Id be a little less worried about Michael and more worried about why I'm finding out like this!"
I glared at him. "Dad."
"Don't dad me. While you're out here hooking up with one of my detectives you're being watched."
"Who said we are hooking up? Guys and girls can be just friends." I pointed out. "Jordan. I'm far from stupid." He said and brushed passed me heading straight for Molly's door. I grabbed his arm quickly. "Dad not here. Not with everyone here." I pleaded. My dad stormed through the door of Molly's ignored my plea. "Atwater!" Everyone instantly pausing what they was doing to see what the commotion was about. The look on Kevin's face, he knew exactly what was about to go down.
"Sarg. I can explain."It took Jay and Erin getting Voight to calm down. Chief Boden also made his way to stand close to my dad. They made him sit as one stood on each side of him. Atwater and I both revealed our relationship. I made sure to point out that our relationship was more than hooking up. Kevin told my dad how much I meant to him and that he would never under no circumstances hurt me or put me in danger. Everyone in the room agreed to help in the search of finding Michael and being him down. I couldn't hide from Michael. This is what he wanted, me to hide, to be afraid. I vowed from this moment that I would never let him put fear in me.
I left Molly's with dad. I wanted him to come over for a while. Deep down I felt bad about how he found out, so I decided to cook for him. We could eat and watch some tv. I wanted to make up for this. In my mind I wondered if he was more mad at the fact that Kevin and I was seeing each other or the fact that he found out through pictures. Michael would get what he deserved one way or another. I made a promise to that. As we arrived at my home Elena was running outside to meet us. "Elena? Elena, what's wrong? Is Henry okay? Where is he?" I questioned her. "Michael. He found out where you lived. He took Henry!" She cried. My dad started calling every possible unit he could. I ran into the house. Alaska and Roscoe barked continuously. I fell to my knees and let the tears flow. "Please God let him be okay." I felt arms pull me off the floor.
"Kevin."
"I'm here." He said as he pulled me in for a hug. I just cried in his arms. "We are going to find him. I promise that."I went down to the district. Henry's picture was taped to the white board. Kevin and Erin stood beside me. "Jordan, Henry will be okay. He's fine. I believe it." Erin said. I ran my hand over it. Many questions filled my mind. Was my baby okay? Why did Michael take him? Will I get to see my baby again? A voice interrupted my thoughts, "We have some volunteers. I close my eyes and took in a deep breath. I turned around. Firehouse 51 was standing there waiting to hear what they needed to do. "We could sit around and do nothing." said Casey. "We want to help." Severide added.
We all gathered around as Elena and Tommy told details of what occurred. I told them everything I could think to tell them about Michael. It wasn't like I knew his life story. 51 left soon after the information was given. Chief promised they would keep their eyes and hear open. Henry was the only thing I could think about. He's only five months old he needs me.
I walked downstairs to get some fresh air. "Hey Jordan." Trudy called. I walked over to her desk. "Yes."
"I know how you Voight's are. Don't leave here and do anything stupid. You got me?"
"Ok." I mumbled then walked away. She wasn't lying. I was my father's child after all. I've done pretty reckless things before without thinking of the consequences. I sat on the steps of district 21. This felt like a bad dream I was having. I put my face in my hands. "Hey is detective Atwater here?" a child's voice questioned. I looked up, "yea why?"
"I was told to give him this." he said handing me a envelope. "Some guy paid me to deliver it."
I took the envelope from his hands. "Come with me." I told him. I told Trudy to watch him til I got back. "Sit on this bench. I'll be back." I said and ran upstairs.
I handed the envelope to Kevin. I gave them the story the kid told me. Kevin opened the envelope. It was a picture of me and him. A black x was written across his face. On the back on the picture it read, "stay out of her life or else." Another picture was Henry. It also had a message. "He's fine for now." My dad went down to talk to the kid to see what more information he could get. Ruzek took the pictures to see if he could get any fingerprints off of it. "This is all my fault." I said. "Oh Jordan it's not. You didn't do anything to deserve this." Erin said. "Sure feels like it."Hours had passed since Henry had first disappeared. I tried to think positive but negative thoughts clouded my mind. At this very second I wanted Michael dead. I didn't care how he died, I just wanted to see his lifeless body. We will find Henry and bring him home. Once he's home he wasn't going to leave my sight. I don't care who wants him to spend the night. He's not. Not for a really long time.
