Power Rangers SPD: The New Generation

Chapter 4: First acceptance

Luke returned with Selena back to her grandmother's house.
"Selena, you took longer to return that I expected. I was getting worried that Torus... who is this?" Selena's mom asked as Selena and Luke walked in the house.

"He's my new bodyguard, at least until he has to leave in a few hours. He protected me from the Enforcer." Selena replied. Selena's mom eyes widened at the mention of the Enforcer.

"Torus wants you so badly that he'd send THE Enforcer?" Selena's mom asked.

"He's no threat. He's been contained in a containment card." Luke replied. Selena's mom nodded and smiled, though Luke thought it seemed somewhat forced.

"Selena, go say hi to your grandmother." Selena's mom told her daughter. Selena nodded and went further into the house to greet her grandma. Selena's mom looked at Luke... and Luke did not like what he saw. He had seen this look from others all his life... the look of suspicion.

"So, you're a Power Ranger... judging by your uniform and assurance of the Enforcer's current state." Selena's mom said. Luke nodded.

"Yes ma'am. I'm the new Red Ranger of the SPD B Squad." Luke replied before Selena's mom could speak, Selena's grandma walked in the room with Selena to meet Luke.

"Well, well... an SPD uniform... colored with red. You didn't mention that your new friend is a Power Ranger." Selena's grandma said as she approached Luke to shake his hand.

"Um, hi. I'm Luke Scott." Luke said.

"And I'm Marianna Hammond. My daughter here is Tori Hammond, and of course you know my granddaughter Selena." Selena's grandmother said. Luke shook her hand.

"Pleased to meet you both." Luke replied.

"Hey, Mom... I'm going to take Luke to see the view from the roof." Selena said before she motioned Luke to follow her. Luke followed as Selena went up the stairs. Tori sighed as the two went up the stairs.

"You don't trust him?" Marianna asked Tori. Tori sighed again.

"I... He's a Power Ranger... he traded a normal life and embraced danger.... danger that I don't want anywhere near my daughter." Tori replied. Marianna sighed.

"I remember.... we had this talk before... about danger.... back when you killed Selena's dream." Marianna replied.

"We are NOT having this talk again." Tori told Marianna.

"You don't get to tell me what I can and cannot talk about." Marianna retorted.

Meanwhile at Half Moon City's SPD noncombat base/training center:
The non combatitive cadets in HMC's SPD academy were shocked by the sudden arrival of Doggie Cruger and the new B Squad Power Rangers, without their new Red Ranger.

"Commander Cruger, new Rangers, welcome to the non combat wing of the SPD Academy... where we train future lab technicians, Zord mechanics, researches and more for SPD." said one of the head members of this bases' staff.

"We are greatful to be here. I apoligize this visit is as last minute that it is. Our new Red Ranger is handling a situation and has been instructed to meet us here as after he is done." Cruger explained.

Meanwhile:
Luke joined Selena through a staircase that led up to the roof of the house and saw the view of the garden around them.

"Wow." Luke said in awe... having never seen so many different colors and kinds of flowers before. Selena giggled.

"There are lots of flowers here, that doesn't grow anywhere else in the city. But if you think this is amazing, you should see my house and the garden I have back home in New Tech City." Selena said. Luke smiled.
