Chris Johnson
Age: 16
Civilian powers: Control of lightningFamily: Jonah Johnson (father), Simon Johnson (younger brother), Mariah Johnson (mother)
SPD Squad: B Squad
Rank: Blue Ranger
Ranger forms
Highly trained at the SPD academy, Chris Johnson is one of the best combatants of the new SPD B Squad. However due to his ego and refusal to accept anyone else as a potential leader, Cruger made him the Blue Ranger, much like he did Sky Tate during the Troobian Invasion. As Blue Ranger, Chris is the second in command of B-Squad. Upon taking the mantle of Blue Ranger from Bridge Carson (who had been Green Ranger during the days of the Troobian Invasion), Chris has some big shoes to fill. Thanks to Kat's modifications to the B Squad Ranger forms, Chris can use his civilian powers in his morphed form, making his Lightning abilities more powerful than before.
Weapons and Gear:
Deltamax StrikerEvery SPD B Squad Ranger (with the exception of the Red Ranger) is given a Deltamax Striker. These versatile weapons can act as a sword or a different type of gun for each Ranger. In blaster form, Chris' Deltamax Striker may have the greatest range, but not the greatest power especially in comparison to the Yellow Ranger's Striker, which has the shortest range but the greatest power. With that said, the blade form of the Deltamax Striker is quite sharp and is a danger to any who chooses to follow the path of evil.
Zord:
Delta Runner 2A gyrocopter piloted by the SPD Blue Ranger. It's engines double as laser barrels to use against enemies. It can also use a Rescue Cable to tangle or lift objects. When combined into the Delta Squad Megazord, this zord forms into the left leg and handcuffs used by the Megazord.
Bio (of what we know so far): Born to a rich and powerful company, Chris Johnson had it all growing up... except a father who actually loved him. With a father who only cared for status rather than happiness, Jonah Johnson was not so happy when he learned that his son Chris had befriended an orphaned boy named Luke Scott, calling him "Chris' stray". Always pushed to be the best, Chris believes that he must always be the best, the fastest, and strongest to have any value. Due to this, he has something of an ego, as he was at the top of his class at the SPD academy. However, because this ego would make it difficult for him to be an effective leader, Commander Cruger chose Chris to be the Blue Ranger instead of the Red Ranger, giving that role instead to the more experienced Luke Scott, who had fought criminals as The Lone Ranger for 2 years prior to joining the ranks of SPD. Feeling undervalued, Chris currently resents Luke for his role, however he is coming to accept his new role as Blue Ranger... however Jonah isn't happy... seeing the new Blue Ranger as a second rate Ranger undeserving of a spot on SPD's B Squad. Hopefully, Chris can prove to his father that he is a hero even though he's the Blue Ranger, and can show his father the value of hard work and teamwork.
Relationships
Luke Scott
His relationship with the current Red Ranger is complicated. Chris is well aware of Luke's skill as a Ranger and combatant but lacks faith in his leadership skill. He also resents Luke for having the position he sees as rightfully his due to the effect of his father making him believe that he is superior to all. However, Chris is coming to accept Luke more and more as the battles continue... perhaps putting the ground work for the rebuilding of their friendship.Jonah Johnson
Jonah is a man who expects perfection from his family, and is no different with Chris. Jonah is a genius who sees himself as superior to everyone and believes that his kids should be superior to all as well. However, due to Chris not being a genius in all school subjects (though his grades pre SPD academy were still excellent), Jonah has come to see Chris as being a failure, and it has caused a strain between the relationship between him and Chris. Jonah has chosen Chris' younger brother Simon to take over Superior Industries (Jonah's company), leaving Chris outcasted. While Jonah was initially impressed by Chris' performance in the SPD Academy, Chris' ego caused Cruger to make him the new Blue Ranger upon being promoted to B Squad Ranger status, making Jonah see him as a failure once again.Simon Johnson
While we have not seen any meetings between Chris and Simon, we know from the SPD B Squad cadets that what Chris shares about Simon has been nothing but positive things... though some have noted that Luke refuses to talk to Luke Scott about such things currently.Anubis Doggie Cruger
Chris' current bond with the SPD Earth base commander is quite complicated. On one end, Chris respects Cruger due to his part in defeating Gruumm and the Troobian forces on Earth years ago, on the other hand, Chris isn't particularly happy with Cruger's decision to make Luke Scott the SPD Red Ranger, and finds it irrational to put a man who has never relied on teamwork in the past in charge of a team. While it's clear to us that Cruger is teaching Luke the value of teamwork, Cruger may be trying to teach Chris humility like he taught Sky Tate when he had been made Blue Ranger under Jack Landors during the Troobian attacks
