Power Rangers SPD: The New Generation

Chapter 8: Day of the fakes

Jason Lee Scott was looking out a window in the space ship he, Kimberly Ann Hart, and Carter Grayson now shared. He couldn't believe it had been two years since he was forced to leave his nephew Luke on his own on Earth.... a decision he had regretted every day... but he needed Luke to be safe. He didn't know that Luke had spent the last 2 years as The Lone Ranger searching for him on Earth, or that he was now the SPD Red Ranger. Jason hoped Luke was living a normal life. Suddenly, Jason had an idea. He went to the ship's communication room and put up a transmission for an old friend on Earth.

Meanwhile:
Doggie Cruger loved practicing his swordsmanship with Luke Scott. It reminded him of the days he was teaching Jack how to use a sword in case he ever needed to change his tactics in battle against the Troobians... this was something that had came in handy after Gruumm tried to turn an honorable alien samurai against the SPD Power Rangers. Jack had defeated someone who had been considered the greatest swordsman of all... Katana. While Luke was much more skilled than Jack had been upon starting his training with Cruger, no doubt due to Jason Lee Scott, being an accomplished swordsman in his own right, training him prior to his disappearance, he wasn't exactly at Cruger's level yet. Not for a lack of trying, Luke improved more and more with each spar, and it was taking Cruger longer and longer to disarm him as a result. The Power Sword clashed with the Shadow Saber again as both Luke and Cruger struggled to overpower each other.
"Your form continues to improve." Cruger told Luke.

"I had great teachers." Luke replied. Cruger smiled under his helmet upon hearing Luke say teachers... he was honored that Luke was including him in his list of teachers. Little did Luke and Cruger know, they had an audience. The two morphed Rangers then broke off their blade clash and started to swing blow after blow against each other, each strike was being parried by the two opponents until finally Cruger managed to kick Luke back, knocking him off his feet. Cruger pointed his blade toward Luke.

"Yield." Cruger said. Luke sighed as he powered down.

"Looks like you win again, Commander." Luke said with a content smile, knowing he had made Cruger work hard for said win.

"And once again it took longer for it to happen." Cruger replied as he powered down and helped Luke up.

"You continue to improve rapidly. I'd hate to battle a more experienced version of you down the line." Cruger said honestly as he helped Luke to his feet. Suddenly the two heard clapping and there was the rest of the B Squad. Even Chris was clapping.

"That was quite a match." Chris told the two.

"How long have you guys been watching?" Luke asked.

"A while now. We don't really get to see two skilled swordsman spar often, so we thought we could learn something by watching you. After all the Deltamax Strikers double as swords." Jessica explained. Cruger nodded.

"That was a wise thing to do. I'm open to training all of you in swordplay if you all would like." Cruger offered.

"I might just take you up on that offer. Sure I don't have a blade weapon in my personal arsenal, but I was thinking of asking for one soon." Sam replied.

Isinia Cruger walked over to them.
"Doggie, I think it's time for the pups to get some rest. You never know when their next battle will be." Isinia told Cruger who nodded.

"You may be right. Rangers, get some rest. It won't do if you all are exhausted before Earth is in danger again." Cruger told the Rangers, who saluted Cruger before going back inside the base to rest up.

The six Rangers walked into the common room and Luke sat next to Sabrina on a couch. Sabrina looked at Luke curiously.
"So.... you and Selena... wanna tell me a bit about that?" Sabrina teased. Luke rolled his eyes before grabbing his phone to check social media.
