Power Rangers SPD: The New Generation

Chapter 5: A fighter's pride

A few weeks since Chapter 4:
An unmorphed Chris was hiding behind a wall as an alien was trying to steal a car. He and the other Rangers had been sent to capture this theif, as the normal police had difficulty dealing with him.
"Squad leader, do we move now?" Chris asked. It burned him up to call someone else... especially a former vigilante, 'Squad leader', but Cruger chose who he chose.

"Yeah... you're up Chris." Luke replied through his morpher phone. Chris hung up and approached the alien.

"Freeze, SPD!" Chris said. The theif growled and glared at Chris.

"Darn space police!" The alien said before he shot an energy blast at Chris. Chris smirked as he dodged and grabbed his blaster and fired. The alien tried to run, but he was hit by Chris' blaster shot.

"Darn it!" The theif said.

"Don't think you're getting away... I'm the best in SPD." Chris declared.

"Then why is your uniform covered with blue?" The theif replied sarcastically. Chris growled and the alien stood and ran again. Chris grabbed his blaster and started to fire in rage. One of the blaster bolts almost hit Sabrina who was pulled away by Luke. Luis chased the theif as Luke pushed Chris back with wind.

"HEY... WHAT THE HELL! YOU CAN'T JUST FIRE BLINDLY! YOU ALMOST HIT SABRINA!" Luke yelled at Chris.

"I WOULDN'T HAVE HIT HER. I HAVE THE HIGHEST MARKSMENSHIP POINTS IN TRAINING!" Chris replied, despite having forgotten that Luke himself never got tested for points.

"YOU HAD A CLEAR HEAD DURING YOUR TRAINING DAYS!" Luke yelled back.

"Luke, it's ok... I wasn't hit." Sabrina said as she put a hand on his shoulder. Luke sighed and nodded as Luis came back with the criminal... controlling his movements by binding their shadows.

"Mission success!" Luis said. Luke smiled.

"Great job, Luis. Nice work." Luke said. Chris groaned.

Back at the SPD main base:
"YOU FLEW OFF THE HANDLE! THAT'S WHY I'M YELLING AT YOU!" Luke yelled.

"I DIDN'T SEE YOU TRY TO GO AFTER HIM!" Chris yelled back.

"YOU ASKED FOR US TO HANG BACK AND LET YOU HANDLE THINGS, AND I RESPECTED YOUR REQUEST SO I COULD SEE HOW YOU HANDLE THESE OPERATIONS!" Luke pointed out.

"Yeah, Luke is right about that. You wanted it to be your arrest and we just backed you up!" Jessica said.

"NOBODY ASKED YOU, JESSICA!" Chris yelled.

"What's your problem, man?" Sam asked.

"WHAT'S MY PROBLEM? WHAT'S MY PROBLEM?" Chris started to yell before Commander Cruger walked in the Command Center.

"ENOUGH!" Cruger yelled and everyone quieted down. Luke and Chris continued to glare at each other.

"I want to say you all did a fine job capturing our little car theif... but clearly there has been some... problems since the mission. Cadet Scott, what would you say about Cadet Johnson?" Cruger asked.

"He's a strong and dedicated Ranger. He trains hard and he takes his Ranger duties seriously... but lately his big ego has been affecting his teamwork compatibility." Luke replied. Cruger looked at the other Rangers.

"Anyone agree with that?" Cruger asked..

"I do. When we were on the field Chris boasted towards the criminal... and once reminded by the criminal that he is the Blue Ranger, rather than the Red Ranger, he started blindly firing his blaster in a rage and one of the blast almost got me." Sabrina said.
