Luke was at the homeless shelter, helping kids with their homework. Despite the constant battles and training that comes with being an SPD Power Ranger, Cruget still made sure Luke had enough time to continue helping at the shelter. Needless to say, Cruger didn't want Luke's loyalties divided between the different ways he could help people... he had learned from Jack's retiring that prehaps he needed to also let his Rangers have a life outside of SPD.
As Luke was walking towards another child to help him with his homework... Luke felt someone watching him and his head began to hurt.
"So.... you truly do not remember... no matter... I remember you, Luke. I remember the last time we met...." said a man hidden in the shadows. Luke started to stumble out of the shelter, before he walked out of the front door.
Luke seemingly fell only for the shadowy man to catch him.
"I'm coming for you, Luke.... even in your nightmares.... I hope you remember me.... before we meet again." the shadowy man said before he seemingly disappeared.Suddenly Luke felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Luke... answer me! Are you ok?" asked the voice of Ally Samuels. Luke looked at his adoptive aunt, stunned. Did she not see the shadowy man?
"I... I think so. I thought... I saw something... maybe someone strange but.... it's nothing." Luke replied.
"You need to take better care of yourself, you look exhausted. I guess becoming an SPD Power Ranger can drain the energy right out of you." said a new voice after Luke, who had for some reason been sitting on the ground was helped up by Mary.
"Mary, what are you doing here?" Luke asked.
"Ever since you joined SPD, the shelter does less supply runs... so I asked permission from my family and now I deliever my aunt and uncle's fruits and veggies right to the shelter." Mary explained as Luke was on his feet again. As Luke noticed that Mary had put down some boxes of fruit and veggies to help him up, Luke walked over to them.
"Let me help you." Luke told Mary as he grabbed some of the boxes. Mary smiled as she grabbed the remaining boxes.
"Just... be careful. Everyone has a limit to how hard they can work." Mary told Luke. Luke shrugged.
"I'm a Power Ranger. Limits are overrated." Luke replied. Mary giggled before looking sternly at Luke.
"By the way. We need to talk about you not telling me you were The Lone Ranger." Mary said. Luke sighed.
"I..." Luke started to say before Mary started to walk towards the shelter door with her boxes.
"Later. First, let's get these boxes to the shelter's kitchen." Mary said as she walked. Luke followed with his boxes and Ally helped the teens by opening the door for them to enter the shelter.
After Luke and Mary put the food in the shelter kitchen, Mary motioned for Luke to follow her. Clearly she intended for this conversation to happen as soon as possible. This was something Jack Landors noticed.
"Mary find out about the flower girl Sam tells me you keep hanging out with?" Jack asked teasingly.
"Would it matter if she did? I have lots of friends that are girls." Luke replied, not understanding Jack's teasing. Jack simply smiled and patted his shoulder.
"Good luck." Jack said, clearly realizing that prehaps, Mary's urgency had nothing to do with Luke's potential love life. He then walked away, leaving Luke to follow Mary as she motioned for him to follow her. Luke walked outside of the shelter.
"Where are we going?" Luke asked.
"My apartment. My parents have been wanting to see you for a while.... they keep asking about you. So I figured after you say hi to them, we can talk... about your old secret." Mary replied. Luke nodded.
