"I believe you've met Javier before, haven't you?" Brian pointed at Javier, who waved back from the other side of the storage room, grabbing some equipment.

Yuzuru nodded hesitantly, throwing glances around the room. I picked out a jack and wiggled out of the cramped shelves, holding the bunch of wires up. "I'll be borrowing this for a while, okay?"

"Sure. Oh, that girl's my-"

"I'm just hanging around, don't worry about me."

Yuzuru blinked and nodded slowly, staring at me curiously, without a word from him. Brian let out a soft sigh, just loud enough for me to barely catch it.

I quickly left the storage room, tagging behind Javier.

"Why did you cut Coach off?" Javier asked, trying to sound casual.

I shrugged as I kept silent for a while.

"...Does that guy even talk, though?" I gestured towards Yuzuru.

"His English is bad."

"Worse than yours, tomato boy?"

"Seriously. He's barely comprehensible in English." Javi rolled his eyes, tapping his skate guards on my head. "Why don't you try speaking to him in Japanese?"

I shook my head and sighed. "Hun, I watch Japanese dramas with English subtitles."

"You bring dishonour to your family, chica."

--- --- ---

"Alright, huddle up!" Brian raised his arms and clapped loudly, catching our attention. Javier and the other students flocked to him, while I waddled slowly to the back.

He gestured towards the new guy, facing the rest. "We have a new addition to our team from today. His name is Yuzuru."

Yuzuru glanced at Coach and quickly took a bow towards the rest. "N-Nice to meet you! I'm...I'm Yuzuru Hanyu," He struggled in a deeply-accented voice shakily.

Poor guy...I turned around and skated away from the rest, rolling my eyes as Javier shot me a cheeky smile. He chuckled and skated off with Coach and the rest.

I casually spun around and relaxed my body, letting rhythm and instinct take over. No pressure, no pressure...I took a sharp breath and took off on a triple flip.

Crash. I cursed softly, slowly getting up. I glanced around and noticed a pair of eyes on me.

Him again...What was his problem?? I grunted exasperatedly at the Japanese dude, ignoring him as much as possible. I gave the flip another try.

Crash.

Crash. I got up and took a deep breath.

Crash.

"Jesus-" I swore out loud, storming off the rink.

--- ---

"Chica?"

"Leave me alone..." I crouched in the corner of the dressing room.

"C'mon, you're just having a slump today. It's not that bad..." Javier tried to comfort me, squeezing my shoulders as he slid down beside me.

"I'm just so...UGH." I grunted and buried my face into my lap.

Javier patted my head, sighing softly. "You'll be okay... Coach believes in you. I- We believe in you."

"I don't even believe in myself anymore."

"June..."

I shook my head. "It's been over 9 months, Javi."

"We'll keep working at it, alright? We'll form Team Borser again!" Javier chirped as he attempted to cheer me up, giving my hand a little squeeze.

I gave him a small smile. " Yeah..." I sighed softly.

"Wanna join us?"  Javier asked encouragingly, offering his hand.

I shrugged, going along with him. "Just for today, I guess..."

Coach's face brightened up as he saw us walking out of the dressing room. "You feeling okay?" He asked concernedly.

I nodded quietly, looking at Javier.

"Welcome back, comrade!" He raised my arm excitedly, like a judge crowning a victor.

Coach grinned happily and thumped my back, giving me a thumbs-up.

"I'll do my best for you, as usual."

--- ---

"Speed up, June! Your entry is too slow!"

I nodded as I bit my lip, entering into the triple flip.

I wobbled and stepped out of the flip as I landed. "Darn..."

"It's an improvement, chica!" Javier smiled as he prepared for his quad salchow.

I shrugged and slowed down, catching my breath.

Coach skated towards me, patting me on the head. "I'm really glad you're back with us, June."

"Well..." I glanced at him hesitantly. "Just for today, Coach. I'm..." I pursed my lips, looking down.

"I understand. Don't worry, June. Take your time." Coach smiled reassuringly, patting my back before moving on to another student.

As I moved forward, the Japanese dude skated in my direction, subtly shooting me a weird look. What?

'That Matsujun...what's her deal?' I caught wind of his mumbling, stopping dead in my tracks.

I rolled my eyes and skated towards him, grabbing him by his shoulder.

"Do you have a problem?"
