Hey guys! Sorry if this chapter is a little lower-quality or has more spelling/grammar errors than usual, I'm writing this on my phone instead of my laptop so it's kind of a new experience lol. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this bonus chapter! It was fun to do, so I'll probably do more in the future!!
--You were somewhat new to Camp Half-Blood. You'd only been there for about a week, to be precise. You were still unclaimed and living in the Hermes cabin. The kids there were nice, but they didn't really seem... Sibling-like to you. You didn't really fit in with the Stoll brothers or Luke. You were certain your father was some other god. Maybe Apollo? You did enjoy archery.
Dinner had just finished when Luke grabbed your arm. "Hey, Y/n! Don't go running off to the cabin just yet. We're going to have a campfire!"
A... Campfire? You didn't know whether to be excited or nervous. "Okay..." You said quietly. You allowed Luke to drag you all the way to the campfire. He sat down on one of the huge logs that surrounded it and pat the seat next to him, gesturing for you to sit next to him.
"Come on, Y/n! Sing some campfire songs with us. It'll be fun." He gave you his signature smile that was hard to resist. You gave in and sat next to him. You noticed a few children of Apollo holding guitars on their laps. After a few seconds they began strumming.
"Oh things couldn't be worse when your parents run the universe," Luke sang.
"Oh things couldn't be worse when your folks run the universe," the campers echoed.
"My dad is Hermes he messengers things, you'll know his sign by his shoes with those wings. I'd wait by the phone but the phone never rings, oh no!" Luke sang loudly. "When your dad's a god, life can be tough! I met the guy once and once was enough!"
The crowd muttered out their agreements. Annabeth spoke up next.
"My mom's Athena, she's smart and she's wise, she's sworn off gluten and she's sworn off guys. But if she came to camp it'd be a surprise, oh nooo."
"Oh nooo!" You echoed with the other campers.
"And my stepmom, she hates me and my dad works all day! So I left Virginia and I ran away!" Annabeth sang. You looked around, confused.
"Wait- is that true?" You asked.
"Everybody!" Luke shouted.
"Oh things couldn't be worse when your parents run the universe! Oh, things couldn't be worse, when your folks run the universe." The campers sang.
"Alright, who's next?" Luke called out.
"My mom's Demeter, goddess of grain, she gets excited when it starts to rain." Katie sang. "But planting and planting and planting's a pain! Oh nooo."
"Oh nooo," The campers echoed.
"Right? For their sixteenth birthday, my friends got a car, but I got a fern in some dumb mason jar!" She sang angrily.
"Oh! Oh! My turn!" Grover, a satyr you recognized piped up. He stood up and puffed out his chest with a grin. "I'm the child of pan, god of the wild, for those who love nature they're often beguiled! He's not really my dad, but I'm sort of his child, oh noo!"
"Oh noo," Everyone echoed, with a little less enthusiasm than before.
"He went for a hike, to explore new frontiers! And no-one has seen him for thousands of years!" Grover choked on his last few words as he began sobbing. There was a slight hesitation to continue, but the campers carried on with the chorus.
"Oh, things couldn't be worse, when your parents run the universe! Oh things couldn't be worse, when your folks run the universe!"
"Chiron," You asked, looking at the centuar. "Who's your dad?"
"Oh! Well... my father is Kronos." There was a long pause. The campers looked around at each other, and even the children of Apollo who'd been providing the instrumentals had stopped.
"Remember my lecture, he ate his children."
Luke mustered a smile as he looked out at his fellow campers. "Chiron wins!"
"Yeah..." The rest of the camp murmured.
"His dad's definitely the worst." You heard Grover say.
"How about you, Silena?" Luke tried to get the song back on track as he pointed to the daughter of Aphrodite.
"The goddess of love, my mom's Aphrodite, she tries to be cool but mainly she's flighty. I'll bring home a boy, and she's there in her nightie-"
"Oh no!" Everyone shouted, this time genuinely.
"It's so embarrasing guys!" She yelled. "I've tried to seek help from even the Fates, cause she steals my mascara and all of my dates!"
"Ahh," Luke said, clearly trying to move the song back to sounding more PG, "Y/n, it's your turn!"
You immediately threw your hands up in defense. You were not confident in your singing abilities. "Oh no, if I tried to sing it'll probably cause an avalanche." You said, trying to take the attention of the entire camp off of you.
"Hey," Luke wrapped an arm around your shoulders, bringing you in closer to him. "We're all friends here. Give it a shot!"
"But," You protested, "I don't even know my godly parent-"
"It's alright." Luke comforted you, "A lot of half-bloods never know their godly parent. Just give it a try."
You cleared your throat, looking out at all the other demigods at the campfire. "So my dad is some god, that's great, I guess. Did he not want me or not want the stress? Too bad he's the worst, and my life is a mess! Oh nooo."
The crowd started getting excited as you raised your voice. You started to move along, feeling the music as you sang.
"I hope he shows, even a trace, 'cause I've got some choice words to throw in his face!"
"Whoo! Yeah!" You heard some campers shout. You felt yourself blush a little from the attention.
"Oh, things couldn't be worse when your parents run the universe! Oh things couldn't be worse-" This time the crowd was cut off by Luke.
"But I don't care where our parents may be, as long as you are here with me," You felt him pull you a little closer.
"We don't care where our parents may be, as long as you are here with me. As long as you are here with me!"
