I stood on the small and crammed canoe alongside my best friend Katara as we both waterbend, making our way down the water in this ice cold place we call home, as Katara's brother, Sokka paddles the canoe.

I make hand motions back and forth as Katara watches and mimicks what I do. "Like this?" She asks moving her hand in front of her. I smile and nod watching her do exactly what I just did previously. "Exactly that! Although I must add, the key is to feel the flow and make it more smoother. Like this." I tell her as I raise the water smoothly by moving my hands forward and backward. "See?" I say watching Katara pay close attention.

"Okay can you two just stop fooling around and help me paddle?" Sokka whines, as he stops paddling. Katara scoffs. "Sokka we are not fooling around. We're waterbending. Y/N is helping me learn the basics." Katara says crossing her arms. "Forget Sokka Katara. He's just jealous he can't waterbend." I say smirking. Sokka rolls his eyes. "No I'm not. And I don't care about waterbending." He says. Katara gasps and I easily got offended. "Water bending is part of us. Our nation. Our culture. You better watch it Sokka." I say furrowing my eyebrows. "For that you're paddling the rest of the way home." Katara says. Sokka grunts and grabs the paddle eyeing me and his sister. "Now back to waterbending." Katara says getting in a stance as I do the same.

"Right. Now make sure-" I said when suddenly, I feel a big whack of the paddle hit behind me. "OW!" I yell out. I turn around and see Sokka paddling. "Watch it Sokka!" I tell him. "Sorry! I didn't see you. I didn't mean that." He says grinning. I roll my eyes and turn back around to Katara. "As I was saying. Make sure to find and have ease in these movements. Feel the flow of the water." I say when again, I get hit by the paddle. Upset, I turn back around and waterbend on Sokka, drenching him. "I said watch it Sokka!" I say. Sokka grunts and rubs his drenched face. "I told you! I didn't mean to do that!" He says dropping the paddle in the canoe  as he stands up. Upset, I walk up to him. "What's your problem?" I ask him. He raises an eyebrow. "Me? What your problem?" He asks as furious as me. "You just had to whack me with the paddle!?" I argued. "Well that could've been prevented if you paddled with me!" He argued back.

We fought, arguing back and forth as we bickered. "Uh guys?" Katara says. "Hold on Katara." Sokka says crossing his arms. "Guys." Katara says again. "I can't believe you're related to this idiot!" I say. "GUYS!" Katara yells. Sokka and I looked over at Katara and noticed that we were heading straight towards a big glacier where the canoe  floated down the water by itself with no control. Our eyes widened and Sokka quickly grabbed the paddle and began paddling away from the glacier.

"We're getting closer!" Katara says panicking. "A little help!" Sokka claims, as I grab another paddle and help him. Paddling quickly, Sokka and I managed to turn the canoe diagonally, but the current kept pushing us towards the glacier. "It's not working!" I say. Sokka and I both panic as Katara looked around. The canoe moved faster and closer when the glacier was inches away. Katara suddenly waterbends, making the glacier break, but not enough for us to prevent us from crashing. The canoe hits the glacier, as the glacier cracks and Katara freezes some water and bends the water.

Everything happened so sudden that we hit something, where Sokka and I decided to jump off the canoe, waterbending the two of us to safely land in the water, as well as Katara doing the same to herself. We ended up floating in the water, watching the canoe  break in the middle as well as the glacier. The three of us glanced at each other. "All good?" Sokka asks, while we made our way to land, the ice, cold, hard and sturdy land we could safely walk on. We nodded, as we were soaking wet. "We're good." I reply while waterbending the water, removing it and draining it from us and from our clothes as it leaves and goes back to the water, making it seem like we were never wet. Sokka pats himself down to make sure he didn't lose anything as I retouch and redo my hair while Katara looks at something. "Hey guys?" She asks turning her head. "What's that?" She asks.
