~Christmas day~

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" Yvette shouted at Clarissa to wake her up at 5 am. "I've been awake for an hour, I can't sleep on Christmas morning," she grumbled getting up. "Well lets go downstairs then," Yvette said pulling Clarissa out of bed. All of this had woken up Clarissa's two cousins, Cleo and Abbie, they had been staying with the girls for a bit now and they all had to move into Logan's room so that their parents could stay in Clarissa's room. Cleo, was a first year at Ilvermorny, so a year younger than Yvette, but was already 12 as her birthday was in November. Abbie was not in Ilvermorny yet but was turning 10 in May. The sisters also had a little brother called Seb who was going to turn 6 in July. The four girls came downstairs to see the three boys, Benson, Logan and Seb already awake and playing on a muggle things called a Xbox. Yvette looked at it in awe and everyone chuckled at her. "What's funny?" Yvette asked blushing. "Your a pure-blood rich kid that's what's funny Yv you don't know about muggle stuff," Clarissa said. "Let me show you something even cooler," Cleo said showing her a computer. Yvette looked at it in confusion, it was not all colourful like the Xbox. "Where are the colours?" Yvette asked. "I haven't turned it on silly," Cleo said clicking a switch on the computer. Suddenly it lit up and Yvette flinched. Cleo then proceeded to show her some games which you could play on the computer and Yvette was very absorbed especially on a game called Minecraft where she and Cleo were laughing about how silly the witches looked in the game with their long noses and pointy hats.

Very soon it was breakfast where they had pastries, like croissants and pan au chocolat. Clarissa was allowed some coco pops which was the first cereal Yvette had seen her eat all summer (a/n I wish I had coco pops right now yummmmmmmm). And Yvette dug into a croissant which she enjoyed and had another, most of the Daniels family had two as well and then some toast and then some cereal. It was all in all a lovely breakfast.

After breakfast had ended Clarissa had sprinted upstairs to get dressed Yvette wondered why she was in such a hurry, her cousin also running up as fast as they can. "Why did you sprint up here?" Yvette asked while Clarissa and her cousin's were brushing their teeth. "We have an hour until everyone arrives and the they'll probably talk for an hour then it's presents," Clarissa said. Yvette looked at her more confused than ever. "We can only play on the computer between now and when people arrive so we want to get the maximum time," Cleo said stepping in. The cousins then all spat out their toothpaste and rushed to get dressed. Clarissa pulled on a pretty white dress with starfish on and added some light makeup. Her cousin's both wearing similar attire. Yvette didn't realise the Daniels wore formal clothes for Christmas they all seemed to have similar style, hoodies and jeans. "Yv, put a dress or something on, we're going to church," Clarissa said. "Church?" Yvette asked confused. "Yes, you dingbat we only get presents till after church so we have to go or there's n presents." Clarissa said shoving a dress in her hands. "Er no offence Mouse but I'm not going to fit in this," Yvette said. "Well, you're going to have to fend for yourself then," Clarissa said brushing her hair so it went slightly golden. Yvette rifled through her case finally picking out the black dress she wore last year to the Malfoy ball. "Yv, that's a ballgown, I know your used to that kind of stuff but I don't think you can wear that to church," Clarissa said sniggering. "Oh shut up Mouse, my mum forced me to wear this to the Malfoy ball last year," Yvette said slinging it back in her case. Clarissa chuckled. "Well we wouldn't expect anything else your majesty," Clarissa said curtsying. Yvette glared at her. She then stared at the girls slightly longer than knee length dresses and sighed. "Would it be weird if I asked to borrow your mum's?" She asked. "Your taller than my mum," Clarissa said leading her to her parents bedroom. Yvette picked out a pretty dress which was black and had spots on it, Clarissa suggested that she should wear the one with butterflies on but Yvette refused, and made a vow to never wear butterfly clothes.

~when the guests arrive~

First to arrive was Yvette's mother who entered and greeted Clarissa's father and mother. (a/n I'm not sure if you've got it yet but Kathryn doesn't real have a problem with muggles she just thinks they are less superior than her, but she feels that wizards should rule and therefore hates the "blood traitory" people who don't feel superior) "Mum," Yvette said embracing her, it felt strange but she would get used to it. "Wow Yvette you look lovely," Kathryn said she was also wearing a beautiful emerald green dress but said she would not attend church as she did not believe in that sort of thing, well that was her excuse. Next came Yvette's aunt Lexi who was slightly pregnant but it wasn't all that noticeable. Then Clarissa's best friend Avery arrived. "Avery!" Clarissa said running to embrace the girl. "Hey C," Avery said grinning. "This is Yvette," Clarissa said gesturing to Yvette. "Hi," Yvette said suddenly feeling a little shy, she felt as though she was intruding on their friendship. "Seems like you've replaced me," Avery said in jokingly tone, but Yvette could tell she wasn't fond of Yvette. "Oh no we are a whole group, Fred, George, Lee, Yvette and me, it's called the squad I think we can guess what pea brain named that," Clarissa said pointing at Yvette. "She wouldn't be a horned serpent for sure," Avery said chuckling. Yvette then smirked,"Oh but the thing is Mouse, I happen to know several torture curses," She said smirking. Avery looked a little shocked, Mouse used to be a horrible nickname that the girls at Ilvemorny called Clarissa but apparently she was fine with it now, a lot had changed. "Two can play that game queen of darkness," Clarissa said pulling out her wand. "God kids these days," Kathryn said chuckling with Lexi. "Kathryn we were just the same," Lexi said chuckling. "True, but we did it because boys are jerks," Kathryn said. "Really?" Lexi said smirking, we both had our fair-share of boys. "There was only one boy I really liked during school," Kathryn said, Yvette assumed she meant the mysterious Regulus."Same little sis, but they aren't around anymore, or at least yours isn't," Lexi said looking a little sad near the end. "But then of course you met me," Carson said kissing Lexi on the lips. "You found anyone K?" Lexi asked. "No, I don't think I will ever love again," Kathryn said. God, her mum really had a messed up past.

Christmas was very enjoyable filled with presents, and church but Yvette dozed off through most of it, she was probably being disrespectful but it really was boring. She spent a lovely time with her friends and family, her and Avery were still a little tense but they both had acknowledged that neither was competing for a single spot and they both had slots in Clarissa's life. So all in all it was one of the best Christmases ever.
