The darkness was always threatening, she had not been here for some time and had forgot the feeling. The darkness shifted and moved when the figure approached her, it was though he was commanding it. You could only see the faint outline of his body as the darkness was shielding his features. Eventually the darkness moved to reveal Voldemort, who else. His legilimency meant he could manipulate and enter dreams at will. (a/n i don't know if you can actually do this with legilimency but this is voldie so we're just gonna say he can) Red eyes met green, Yvette flinched back slightly almost unnoticeable, but Voldemort could pick up and trace of fear however small. He smirked, a smirk so similar to her own it made her shudder. Slowly, he approached her, Yvette slowly walking backwards not controlling her movements everything about this man radiated fear and control, no comfort or peace like a father should.
"Stay still Yvette, you have changed immensely since we last talked," Voldemort said his snake-like voice ringing through her ears. She lifted her head high trying to stay brave, she was a Gryffindor, a Clancy. Her mother could stand up to him why couldn't she? He walked forward yet again this time Yvette stayed put, she would be strong. Voldemort walked over to her and lightly traced his finger over the scar on her face a subtle warning on what her could do. "You are much older and wiser, Yvette your not the scared twelve year-old girl you used to be," Voldemort said. Yvette shuddered. He placed a hand to her forehead and entered her brain. Yvette could feel his presence in her mind reading every single encounter, conversation and action she had made in the last year. "Dumbledore, talked to you?" He asked almost accusingly. Yvette nodded. "Interesting, a phionex, the old fool was not wrong saying a phionex represents changes and new life," He said pondering the thought. "I would've preferred a snake but we can't always get what we want," He said. "What's your patronus?" Yvette dared to ask. "I have no need to cast a patronus, the dementors answer to me," He said, not a straight answer but Yvette got one thing from it, he can't cast a patronus because he didn't have any happy memories. "Didn't my mother give you happy memories?" She asked. "I never said I could not cast a patronus, I just said it was not necessary," He said repeating his point. "Does my mother have a patronus?" Yvette asked. "Yes, an owl the dementors affect her more than any other death eater so she has to cast it whenever around them," He said sounding almost concerned. Yvette was unaware her mother was affected by dementors more than any other death eater, but it was probably because she had good in her heart. "Will I get affected by the dementors too?" Yvette asked slightly worried. "Probably, but it is not a problem you can learn the charm," He said not sounding worried at all.
"Now tell me, who is the eagle?" He asked obviously intrigued. "Her name is Clarissa Daniels," Yvette said. "Daniels? Interesting, did she mention that her great grandparents were supporters of Grindlewald?" He said almost challenging her. "Uh no, but why would you mention that in a conversation?" Yvette asked. "I guess, she could be useful in my ranks," He said. "She would never join you!" Yvette said stepping backwards abruptly. "Do not lie!" Voldemort said and immediately Yvette felt her arm scream in pain and as a new slash was added to her collection. She whimpered determined not to show him how much it hurt. "And your strange affair with Mister Malfoy?" He questioned. Yvette flushed red. "It's just a bit of fun, nothing serious," She stuttered, it was obvious her true feeling for Draco. "Just like your mother," He muttered under his breath. Yvette's ears picked it up though and she looked up in surprise. "My mother?" She asked. "Your mother is more similar to you than she thought," He said not necessarily intending it to be a complement.
Yvette thought back to what Dumbledore had said:
"Your mother will choose, I'm afraid her choice may lead to her death, but we can only hope it will be the right one"
She was still pondering what her mother would choose and what would trigger the decision. Living on both sides was obviously tearing her apart. Yvette decided she was going to choose the light, it would cause her pain and misery but she knew it was the right thing, well she said she had chosen, but sometimes it's just easier to live on both sides and take double the blows. Voldemort was staring intently at Yvette obviously reading her mind, she shivered trying to block him out, but without the proper training she was powerless. "You think you have made your choice do you?" He asked a hint of anger in his voice. Yvette nodded trying to lift her head high. Voldemort starting laughing, not a light comforting laugh but a cackle. Then he smirked at her. "Choices are not as easy as that, why didn't your mother choose long ago? Because she had too much to loose and I fear she will choose when she has lost everything," He said knowing he was right, because well he was. Yvette was thirteen she didn't understand the world. "I have made my choice and I will stick to it!" Yvette said lifting her head high. "Good luck with that," Voldemort said menacingly.
Suddenly the darkness filled in and she woke up bathed in sweat her father last words haunting her.
Good luck with that.
Would she really join him? Would she stick to her choice? Everyone depended on her, her aunt, her friends even her mum secretly wanted her to go down the light, it was the right choice she was sure of it. The question was would she commit to it??
a/n
O.o woooow what a question. Also I added the whole owl patronus thing because I just wanted to show her mum's owl was patronus. Cause I mean I have reasoning people, Owl are silent predators they are wise, they know lots of stuff and can see stuff because their heads can do a 360 and I mean Yvette's mum is a lot like that. She doesn't really have an arrogant streak unlike our dear phionex princess and I think you can all agree a phionex is the most flashy bird out there. But hope you enjoyedddddddddd :3
