Yvette Clancy - book 2 (Harry Potter / Voldemort's daughter fan fic)

Chapter 30

A few months had passed, things dying down about Yvette being the next dark wizard,  but now it was the morning of the Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff quidditch match.

Yvette was wandering down the corridors aimlessly, she was supposed to be meeting Clarissa in the stands so they would get good seats for the match, but she couldn't be bothered to listen to half an hour of Clarissa rambling on about something or other (recently she had got really into dinosaurs and how fascinating they were, to Yvette they were dead, end of story). So that caused her to be not really thinking about where she was going and caused her to crash into something hard and cold. She exited her thoughts to see Hermione and a Ravenclaw prefect Penelope Clearwater petrified in front of her. She gasped and stood still for a second. Before running around screaming,"More people have been petrified get help, get help!" After shouting that for about five minutes it suddenly dawned on her people had been petrified and she had been caught at the scene of the crime, that made her the main suspect. They couldn't even blame Harry now as it was his best friend who had got petrified, she was on thin ice.

Eventually, a group of frantic teachers approached her. Snape was the one to speak up, obviously. "Miss Clancy do tell us what happened," He said with his annoying voice. "Well, I was supposed to meet Clarissa at the quidditch stands as we wanted to get the best seats, and then I found them," She said nervously. "This corridor does not lead to the quidditch pitch," Snape said, he really knew how to make Yvette look guilty. "Okay, yes that was because I was avoiding going to Clarissa because she's really annoying so I took a detour, no harm done," Yvette said trying to plead her case, but the evidence seemed hopeless.

"My God, Yvette your such an idiot you should have just come straight to the quidditch pitch and also I am not annoying!" Clarissa said running over to her friend. "You should listen to yourself ramble on about something or other for hours on end and see what you think after that," Yvette said back, she wasn't in the best mood Snape was to blame for that. Clarissa sighed. "If you need evidence for her innocence, I can confirm that I was in fact waiting for her to come and meet me on the quidditch pitch, so that story is true," Clarissa said loudly so everyone could hear.

"That sadly, does not prove anything Miss Daniels for she definitely had enough time to petrify these students while still meeting you," Snape said. Clarissa gulped. "You really screwed yourself over here didn't you," Clarissa whispered to her. Yvette nodded. "Miss Clancy please go to the headmaster's office," McGonagall said ushering everyone away from the petrified students. Yvette started slowly walking in the direction of the headmaster's office dreading her fate, would she be expelled? Or worse, put in Azkaban? At least she would have friends in Azkaban, Sirius seemed nice enough and being expelled she would be stuck at home, with just her mother, yes if things would come to worst she would ask for Azkaban, home would be worse than even there.

She braced herself before knocking on the headmaster's door. Dumbledore opened it sending her a kind smile of encouragement. "Hello Miss Clancy," Dumbledore said. "Hello Professor," Yvette said forcing a smile. "In recent events I have been asked to have a chat with you, the ministry wants to expel you and possibly even Azkaban but I for some reason believe you are innocent," Dumbledore said showing that he was on her side. "I appreciate it professor, but I feel like anything I say won't make a difference in the ministry's eyes," Yvette said. "Well, you see I managed to make a deal with the minister himself," Dumbledore said a little twinkle in his eye. "Really?" Yvette asked sitting up more in her seat because of the prospect that she may be considered innocent. "Well me and your mother persuaded the minister that if the culprit is caught before the end of term, you will be proven innocent unless the culprit is you of course. But if not you will be most likely expelled." Dumbledore said his tone turning serious to show Yvette this was her only chance. Yvette nodded understanding the seriousness of the conversation, her life, her future on the line she had to be serious about this. "Also, the quidditch match has been cancelled," Dumbledore said the twinkle in his eye again. Yvette nodded and stood up before bidding the professor good bye and exiting the office.

She wandered down the corridor everyone giving her dirty looks, she probably would be too if the roles reversed. She decided to visit the hospital wing to see if Hermione was okay as they were good friends. The moment she entered the hospital wing all eyes turned to her. Clarissa, Fred and George waved to her signalling she should come over, Lee was standing next to Harry and Ron obviously there ad been a fight.

~a few minutes previously~

"What if she actually did it?" Lee asked Harry, Ron and the rest of the squad (no Yvette of course). "She didn't," Clarissa said she was fiercely loyal to Yvette and would defend her until she was proven guilty. "But what if she did?" Lee asked again. "She didn't so shut up Lee," Fred snapped standing closer to Clarissa. "But I mean it's kinda obvious she did," Ron admitted. Now it was George's turn to step forward,"I'm sorry thick little brother but that's our little sister you just accused," he said. "What? Ginny?" Ron said confused. "No Yvette, you git," Fred said. "Yvette isn't your sister," Harry pointed out. "She as close to one," George said. The opposition sighed before moving to the other side of the bed to the others.

~backkk to normal time~

"Hey guys," Yvette said awkwardly. "Hey," Clarissa, Fred and George said back no one else spoke. Yvette felt a tear run down her cheek and to avoid embarrassment sprinted out of the hospital wing sobbing as she ran down the corridors, why  could nothing go right for her?
