Yvette Clancy - book 2 (Harry Potter / Voldemort's daughter fan fic)

Chapter 26

When Yvette entered the courtroom all eyes turned to her. She flattered down her dress slightly trying to make herself look more presentable around all of the adults obviously judging her. Never once in her life, had Yvette ever felt as small as that moment when everyone's eyes were on her looking at the thirteen year old as though she were a specimen for some science experiment. The Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge took that moment to speak,"Miss Clancy!" He said a cheesy smile on his face that obviously wasn't genuine,"Do sit down." He gestured to the seat to his right, the one on his left preoccupied by the toad looking woman her mother had described. Yvette returned an equally as real smile back to the minister and sat herself down.

Dumbledore then entered. "Excuse me, but can we remove the reporters from the entrance, Miss Clancy was being harassed by one before she entered," He said, staring the minister down. "Of course," Fudge said a little nervous. Fudge then gestured for someone sitting in the row behind him to sort it out. Dumbledore went and sat himself next to Yvette.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to the trial of Miss Kathryn Clancy!" Fudge said sounding as though he was announcing a concert, not a trial where someone may be sentenced to rot in prison for the rest of their life. Everyone clapped politely, except from Yvette and her mum, no one took note of it, except Dumbledore of course. "Miss Clancy is being charged for, siding with He who must not be named and uh making love with him!" Fudge said, still in an annoyingly cheery tone it only faltering while trying to get around saying the word sex in a courtroom. "The defence please plead you case," Fudge said gesturing to Yvette's mother.

Kathryn was strapped to a chair quite tightly, she still had her hair and makeup done though obviously to make herself presentable. "Thank you minister," Kathryn said smiling at Fudge," Last time we were in this situation I told you my story, He who must not be named captured me and intended to make me join his ranks. I was tortured for months upon end and still did not give in. Unfortunately, he decided to then put me under the imperious curse, in my weakened state I could not fight it and was therefore trapped under the curse. Next thing I know, I'm heavily pregnant and He who must not be named is standing over me. I remember his words exactly "You are carrying my heir, there is no escaping now." I took that moment to jump up and run. I'm not sure if he intended for me to escape but I got out and found a home to start raising my child." Yvette had a slightly shocked look on her face, as amusing as it was watching her mother lie through her teeth, she was surprisingly good at it. "Why did you not alert the ministry of your, unfortunate pregnancy?" Fudge asked. "Because I knew I would have to go on trial, and my theory is proven," Kathryn said. Fudge nodded in approval. "Did you know why He who must not be named chose you to create his heir?" Fudge asked. "I'm not sure, but he knew my mother in his youth so it was probably because of that," Kathryn said. The toad woman then decided to speak up,"Why did he want to produce an heir, I hope you don't mind me asking?" She asked. "He wanted someone to carry on his legacy if he died," Kathryn said, her story sounded very convincing, she had obviously done this before.

"That is all my questions for you Miss Clancy, the opposition may speak," Fudge said gesturing to the toad woman, of course she was the opposition who else? "Firstly I would like to ask the young Miss Clancy some questions," The toad woman said smiling brightly at Kathryn, even though she was going to try her hardest to get her thrown into prison. Kathryn gave Yvette a warning look like 'don't screw this for me'. "Miss Clancy, is what your mother just said true?" She asked smiling brightly at Yvette. "I don't know I wasn't alive when it happened," Yvette said smirking slightly at the idiotic woman. "Well let me rephrase that question, has your mother ever mentioned anything to do with this topic?" She said her 'sweet' facade fading slightly. "She didn't talk about it a lot, for obvious reasons," Yvette started quite nervous,"but once she showed me the scar on her neck that V-He who must not be named gave her." Yvette said almost calling him Voldemort. The toad woman nodded. "Do you mind if we have a look at this, scar?" She asked turning to face Kathryn.

Kathryn nodded moving her hair out the way to reveal the ugly scar on her neck. Everyone gasped. Yvette gave them a look which said 'wimps' it wasn't even that gross, it looked just about the same as the one on her face. The toad woman continued,"Well, he quite obviously tortured you, but who's to say you didn't give in?" Everyone looked a little baffled that was a serious accusation. Dumbledore stood up. "I sent a rescue team to free Miss Clancy, which was unfortunately unsuccessful and they said that she was getting tortured in the basement," He said, everyone nodded in approval. The toad looked a little flustered. "Well if she isn't evil then who's to say the girl isn't!" The toad said in a rage frantically gesturing to Yvette. Everyone gasped. Dumbledore stood up once again. "Miss Clancy is not a threat to the wizading world I assure you but an asset, she is a talented young witch and has not done anything remotely evil during her whole time at Hogwarts," He said. Yvette sent him a 'thankyou' look and he nodded in return. "What about the chamber of secrets, that was probably her!" The toad said, she was getting desperate at this point why did she want to arrest someone so badly? "She was in the USA with her friend Clarissa Daniels at the time of one of the attacks and therefore couldn't have committed the crime," Dumbledore said he was still perfectly calm. Everyone in the room seemed to be satisfied with the evidence and were nodding their heads. "Okay, I will discuss with the jury," Fudge said very flustered.

After a few tense minutes of hushed discussion Fudge turned back to the crowd. "Kathryn Clancy had been declared not guilty and her daughter Yvette Clancy is under no suspicion!" Kathryn and Yvette breathed massive sighs of relief and Kathryn was released. Yvette ran over and hugged her mother who hugged her back just as hard. It was an intense moment of relief, they still had each other. "You did so good," Kathryn whispered in her ear walking towards the entrance. Yvette smiled at her mother's compliment.

When outside they were hit with a wave of reporters all shouting questions like "What was the verdict Miss Clancy?" and "Give us a report on how you felt to be on trial again!" Kathryn pushed passed all of them holding Yvette close and soon they made it outside into daylight. Dumbledore then appeared next to them. "Yvette can stay with you for a few days, do return her to school as quickly as possible," He said before apparrating away. Kathryn followed suit and they appeared in the Clancy mansion.

ayyyyyy not guilty!!! *whoooooooooo* yeah, next chapter will be about Clarissa, Fred, George and Lee. Yvette probably won't be in it. Also did you like Umbridge being a little git?? It's just so when she becomes DADA teacher Yvette will already hate her. But Hope you enjoyed and have a great day!!
