Chapter 38

Chapter 38

"Are you married? I don't see any rings." Isaak fired back. Aiden's grip on my hands tightened. Tinignan ko si Architect Cornago at nakitang naguguluhan sa nangyayari.

"Bakit haharang ka?" Paghahamon ni Aiden pabalik. I wanted to stop this useless talk but Aiden's not backing out.

"Do I even need to? We have a past." Isaak smirked. Para silang mga bata.

"Yeah, like ten years ago. You're nothing but a memory now." Aiden said. Umamba si Isaak ng suntok pero agad akong pumagitna sa kanilang dalawa.

"Ang taas ng tingin mo sa sarili mo 'no? Sino ka ba!?" Sabi ni Isaak habang dinuduro si Aiden.

"Don't, babe. Please." I whispered to him. His face softened but Isaak found the chance to punch him that made Aiden fell on the ground.

Aiden stood up and knocked Isaak back. Kaming dalawang babae ay parehong nagulat sa nangyari.

"Para saan yang suntok mo? Kahit gulpihin mo pa ako, ako parin ang pipiliin niya." Sabi ni Aiden. Nakangising bumaling sa akin si Isaak na nakapag-pataas ng mga balahibo ko.

"Your client or your lover? Choose, Luna." I gulped.

"I choose Aiden, Isaak. I'm sorry." I said before running away from the scene. Narinig ko ang mga yabag ni Aiden sa aking likod pero tuloy tuloy lang akong naglakad paalis.

"Aiden! Wait!" Habol ni Architect Cornago na hindi man lang binalingan ni Aiden.

Aiden caught my arm and began to pull me somewhere.

"Where are you taking me?" I worriedly asked.

"To your room. Get dressed. We need to unwind." Sabi niya na nakapagpabago ng mood ko.

We are all professionals here. The incident earlier shouldn't affect our main reason why we're here. Apo lang naman siya ng kliyente. Pwede pa kaming magdemanda sakanila kung sakali.
 

We need to find a new place. This property is not a good idea. Hindi kami lalo magkakasundo kung magkakasama kami sa iisang lugar. Tutal, hindi rin naman namin makakasama ang Senator, mabuti pang sa iba na kami tumuloy. I sighed.

I should suggest this to Aiden.

Paglabas ko ng kwarto ay nagulat ako dahil nandoon si Aiden at Cornago naguusap. I went inside my room and opened my door a little. I know it's bad to eavesdrop but I heard my name!

I don't want to be rude so I just went by calling Cornago by her last name. Hindi rin naman kasi kami close at masyadong mahaba ang Architect Cornago.

"Are you Luna's fiancè?" She asked.

"I'm planning to be." Aiden said. Para naman akong nawalan ng hininga sa narinig. I covered my mouth with my hand to avoid creating noises.

I saw the sadness in Cornago's eyes before looking straightly at Aiden's.

"You really love her, do you?" She said. I closed my eyes because this is just unbelievable. I am also a woman, hindi rin namin deserve masaktan nang ganto.

"Yes, I do. I love her more than I love myself." I shook my head. No, Aiden. No.

"In those four years she was gone. Ni wala man lang ako sa puso mo? Kahit katiting na pagmamahal? Hindi ko ba siya kayang lagpasan?" Nang silipin ko ulit sila ay nakita ko ang hindi makapaniwala niyang mukha. Her face is already red.

I looked at Aiden, he's looking down at her with a soft look in his eyes.

"I already told you that I can only offer friendship, Claire. Nothing more than that." Aiden said.

"Pero ako mahal kita! I was there when she left you. I was there when Sydney threatened you! I was there to help you ease the pain. I-I was there when you were in the hospital! Wala ba talagang p-pag-asa?" Her face suddenly softened and tears came into her eyes that immediately turned into a sob.

Sydney threatened him? Anong ospital ang sinasabi niya?

"I'm sorry, Claire. But there's only one person that my heart can hold and that is not you." He straightforwardly said.

Napalakas ata ang pagsarado ko ng pinto kaya nakuha ko ang atensyon nila. Before Aiden could open it, I immediately locked myself inside.

"Luna! Open the door!" He repeatedly said. How ironic, parang kagabi ako ang nagpupumilit sakanyang pagbuksan ako ng pinto.

She got a point. Siya ang nasa tabi ni Aiden noong wala ako. Kaya bakit bumalik lang ako sa paligid, aagawin ko na? I feel sorry for her, and for myself.

"See, Aiden? She kept pushing you away, while there's me, who's willing to have you back anytime." I heard her said. I wanted to apologize to her but is it still worth it?

"Can you stop being delusional? What have you back are you talking about? I am not yours to begin with, Claire." Aiden snapped.

I was troubled by the sound coming from behind. Bigla akong tumayo at binuksan ang pintuan. Naabutan kong hawak hawak ni Aiden ang kanyang kanang pisngi habang ang kamay ni Cornago ay nakataas parin sa ere.

"Anong ginawa mo?" Mahinahon ngunit galit kong sabi. I went to Aiden and held his face. Dumugo lang ulit ang sugat niya sa labi mula sa suntok ni Isaak.

I want to go home. I don't think I can tolerate this anymore.

"I-I...." Gulat niyang sabi kasabay ng pagbalik balik niyang tingin sa kanyang kamay at sa pisngi ni Aiden.

"Get out of my sight before I do something to you, Architect." I coldly said. She completely froze from her position. Wala na akong pakielam at basta nalang hinatak si Aiden papasok ng aking kwarto.

Hindi ako makatingin sakanya ngayon kaya dumiretso ako sa banyo para kuhanin ang first aid kit.

I was about to grab it above the shelves but I felt Aiden's arms hugging me from the back.

"Don't ever get tired of loving me, Luna. I beg y-you." He pleaded.

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from sobbing. Inisiksik niya ang kanyang mukha sa aking leeg kaya mas naramdaman ko ang kanyang pag-iyak. Oh God.

"W-why are you crying?" Kinakabahan kong tanong. I tilt my head up dahil nararamdaman ko na ang mga luhang gustong bumagsak sa aking pisngi.

"T-tingin ko nanalo ako sa lotto. I may be that priceless luxury that only the luckiest people can have and I h-happen to be that one particular lucky winner. Thank you, baby. I fucking love you, and I hope you know that." He warmly said.

I faced him and held his face closer to mine.

"Let's runaway?" I said after kissing him.
